“Nice renovated room and very comfortable bed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

I come as a platinum member of IHG and the room seems said to be upgraded to renovated room. Even though they can't upgrade me to a harbour view room I am still satisfied with the room.

Checked in at 10pm and the staff is nicely greeted. There is a welcome fruit, night chocolate in place. The room is tidy and very clean. The bed is also very comfortable to sleep with. I like the smell of the body wash and everything is just so nice. Can get a late check-out at 2pm without any problem.

Had a welcome drink as well at the lobby lounge, it's quite pack and not easy to find a seat, though the cuppacino is nice too!

Room Tip: try to ask for a rennovated room, my floor is 12th

Stayed once again at the Grand Stanford and was positively impressed by the new rooms (recently renovated). Modern look and very functional.
The stay was very good, with good reception service upon arrival and departure (got an upgraded room) as well as very nice breakfast service.
Got a room with a bay view, which was very clean, but instead of a double bed I had to get twins, since there was no availability. Room service was fast and efficient.

A really good hotel. They gave me an upgraded room when I arrived as a gold ambassador and extended by check out time from 12 noon to 4pm then 5pm. They gave me a couple of complimentary drinks at the downstairs bars. The room was excellent, food in the chinese restaurant and room service was good. It is quite pricey, and they shouldn't be getting us to pay even more for executive lounge access based on the room price compared to other intercontinentals. Anyhow a good experience.

Room Tip: Choose the harbour views. Really nice.

The Hotel was excellent, the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Our room was recentky refurbished but there was a problem with the bathroom door design. If one persone was washing and the door opened yoiu were struck in the back, there was not enough room with the door open. Also the tea cup handles were too small and you burnt your fingers. Overall though an excellen ehotel, great staff exceptionally helpful. Great location, small square across from the hotel with bars and resturants, supermarkets, etc also close by

Room Tip: There are harbour facing rooms, also a roof top pool

We had joined the ambassador program prior to our trip to Asia and the benefits were obvious when we stayed at the Grand Stanford. The staff were amazing - arranging a dinner at the Happy Valley Racecourse, giving us really helpful hints for everything. The facilities for Club Intercontinental were fabulous - a lovely room overlooking Victoria Harbour where you can have a delicious and speedynbreakkfast or a cocktail hour with free drinks and delicious appetizers.

Great location, within walking distance of many of the things you might want to see and do in Kowloon.

Add a Michelin Star restaurant on site and it really made for a memorable stay.

Room Tip: Room upgrades available with the Ambassador Program.

I initially booked the wrong intercontinental in Hong Kong and thought I would be dissapointed at the 'cheaper' Grand Stanford. However I was wrong! This hotel is still in a great position close to shops and lots of restuarants and on the harbour. We were upgraded to a recently renovated room. It was to a very high standard, yes small...but thats Hong Kong! Very stylish and tasteful. Beautiful bathroon too. The staff were always attentive and fantastic service giving advise getting us cabs and making sure the drivers knew were they were going for us. '
It is about a ten min walk to the MKR train station..the only down side...but so easy and cheap to get in a cab if you dont want a walk. Also walkable to Nathan Rd and Ave of Stars on the Harbour is close by. Definately consider this hotel as it is worthy of a five star hotel with a lower price tag. Unfortunately the pool area was closed for renovation when were visited. It looked ok, not huge and no view but still adequate...and you dont really go to Hong Kong to hang out by the pool all day anyway...

Room Tip: Ask for a recently renovated room

we were here in November as a couple, got a deluxe harbour room. Very adequare for our needs. Lobby opens onto street (no view over harbour). Very friendly and courteous staff. In a very handy location. Walked to the ferry (5 min max.). Rooms aren't huge but totally adequate. Beds are great (or was it after a long flight from London??). Good water pressure in shower. Did extra things like cake waiting for us for our anniversary - really nice touch. would come here again, good price.

Room Tip: Definately a harbour view room
