“Best view for the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

I realize this is not an inexpensive hotel but compared to some of the other top rated hotels with a Hong Kong harbor view, I think this is the best value for the money. Be sure to ask for a room overlooking the harbor and not the city. And the best part is the room size which I believe is perfect.

Stayed for a night last year. The room was very nice, spacious and fairly updated. Bathroom also good...quite large actually. We had a room with a harbor view, but we're on a lower floor so not as great a view.

Friend traveling with me said the bar was very nice, but I wasn't there. Check in and check ou was quick and professional.

Overall a good experience.

Cloe to bars and Restos in Wan Chai..walked too and back from a great spot called the Pawn Shop.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong just over a week ago. This was not my first stay at the hotel, but certainly worthy of mention on the basis of the service I felt i received.

I had injured my leg prior to travelling and was treated with care and respect throughout my stay at the hotel. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff from carrying plates at the breakfast or dinner buffets in the restaurants, to helping with access to and from vehicles or assisting with bags.

The staff all seemed to be on their toes to give the best service they possibly could and I was often welcomed by name in the foyer or restaurant by staff as they passed.

My room overlooked the harbour which is a sight to behold. There is still a large amount of construction taking place near to the hotel but I don't recall ever hearing any noise from it. The rooms are of an adequate but not exactly spacious size, but very pleasant. The bathroom is quite "1980's" with heavy, dark marble, but the shower is great for waking you up in the morning when you are far from your native timezone!

The location is actually pretty good. A few minutes walk to the bustle of Wan Chai and the MTR station but only few minutes from Central by (inexpensive) taxi. There is a Star Ferry to get across the harbour only a few hundred yards away, from which you get possibly the best views of the impressive HK skylines, particularly after dark.

I look forward to many future stays at this hotel.

Room Tip: Harbour views are an experience, but you may not spend too much time in your room looking at the vie...

I've stayed in quite some Hyatts or Grand Hyatts. The one in Hong Kong is nice, but not more compared to some others. Rooms deserve to be renovated soon (at least the one I've had). Room equipment is really at the lower side (compared to other hotels in HK). They even don't have wine glasses although the mini bar offers wines. When we ordered glasses and used them, they were not cleaned the other day but stayed there.
Staff very friendly. Breakfast is great, but rather at the upper side when it comes to pricing. They also serve a really good buffet over lunch time. Try it out. You won't be disappointed. Location is a little bit difficult to reach. In essence you need a taxi wherever you want to go. Pool area is nice, too

Stayed in a suite for a week. It was awesome. Breakfast was in room and silver service every day. Restaurants inhouse were fantastic. Staff were helpfull. A touch expensive but worth every cent.

Had a 5 night stay recently whilst attending a convention next door. Nothing is too much trouble for the team at GH. Rooms have spectacular views of the Harbour. The bathroom was certainly full of bling but even my toddlers were impressed with the bath! Really appreciated having the hot water warmer in room. Breakfast very steep in price but has a wide range of choices. Pool and gym are also amazing. 10 mins walk to Wanchai MTR which is far in the humid weather esp. for little ones but otherwise a great stay.
