“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

I arrived in HongKong for business purpose around a week ago and stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. I have to say that everything in this hotel seems to be right. Room is very spacious, clean, and modern. All of the staffs are very helpful and attentive. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. Luggage handling by the bellboy was also very quick. I had issued with my bathroom as the toilet did not flush, but it was then fixed very quickly by the engineer.

The only problem was that I wanted to borrow extra umbrella because the hotel just provides one umbrella in the room and it was raining heavily outside but they didn't allow me to borrow extra umbrella. Besides that, it was a very enjoyable stay.

I staid 4 nights at the Millenium, and I appreciated every moment and every people there. My room o the 9t floor was perfec with a view wonderful on the harbour. The food, the staff, the comfort, the situation were excellent. I appreciated the advice of Raymond Choo for sightseeing. I just have a dream to come back again and it will be this one and no other hotel in Hong Kong.

Room Tip: To have a view in Hong KOng you have to book on the highest level. On the 9th floor, it was PERFECT

Dear Malee-somchai

Thank you for taking the time to write to us on Tripadvisor, and the kind compliment to our services and food offered during your recent stay at the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel.

We are glad to know you enjoyed the four-night stay with us and appreciated our guestroom with harbour view on the 9th floor (Deluxe Floor) as well as services extended. This has been shared with our associates and to Raymond himself. It has always been our service philosophy to engage with guests and offer our genuine, yet unpretentious modern Oriental hospitality, in the way we work and who we are. I am glad that our associates have displayed these positive traits through their friendly services and knowledgeable skills displayed to our guests and customers alike, such as your goodself. Also, thank you for your compliment on the food, this has been shared with the Chef and his culinary team to keep up the good work.

We look forward to welcoming you back again with us, and when you plan for your next trip, please do not hesitate to look us up at our hotel’s website, where you will find one of many of our exciting packages and offers, and our associates will be more than happy to serve you.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Warmest Regards,

Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The attention to detail and welcome on the residence floor (formerly Nikko) are unsurpassed. All the staff, including Elaine & Daniel, have been so attentive and followed up any little question or request almost before you have thought of the question. The refreshments in the Lounge are a marvelous idea and make the residence such a good option. However the buffet closes earlier this year and I struggled to get back from meetings in time after a long day. Although I liked the choices of 1st floor breakfast restaurant best - the breakfast in the 14th floor Lounge was much more relaxing! Thank you too to the nice lady who cleaned & looked after the rooms - always a friendly greeting as well - very welcome when away from home. All being well look forward to visiting again next year.

Spent 3 nights in the New World and we were very happy with our choice. Finding a variety of very good to excellent restaurants was no problem.
The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and had an excellent grasp of the English language. The rooms are large and very comfortable.
Will stay again.

This hotel was called the Nikko until approximately 3 months ago; same management/owner and same staff. The patrons however have completely changed. The hotel is overwhelmed with bus loads of mainland Chinese coming to stay and shop in HKG; this gives a very different feel and experience to the hotel. The lobby was often covered in piles of luggage with mesh covers to be loaded to one of the many buses parked outside. Across the street is the duty free pickup center for these bus loads of Chinese tourists. About two blocks from hotel the bus loads of people meet in am. See pics.
We had thankfully reserved the club level which allowed us to not be in the long lines at the desk and breakfast.
Rooms - clean and very nice. We had reserved a double bed room thinking that this was room with two double beds. Since this is a type of room offered in many other large Asian cities, we did not realize that this meant two twin beds. Full size hairdryer with button to hold for power. Drinks (non-alcholic included for club level).
Club Lounge - very nice. Staff in the lounge are fabulous. Carrie and Carmen helped us throughout our trip and were so friendly.
Price - we paid approx $350 per night. For two twin beds and only two breakfast included, this is very high.
WiFi - very good and can connect many devices per room.
Food - breakfast in the lounge had good options but obviously less than the main breakfast on 2nd floor. The main breakfast area had something for everyone. Egg station, noodle soup stations, breads, fruits, hot dishes ... This area can be very busy at times.
I ordered a glass of wine in the club level lounge as it was after the free beverages time; a glass of basic white wine was $17 USD. For paid beverages in the lounge there should be a basic price for house red & white wine.
The staff is wonderful but for the price paid, we will look for another option on our next stay in Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Get club level if you want a quieter space with less crowds.

Although you had witness a large number of mainland Chinese tourist gathering outside the hotel's public pavement walkway areas, we can assure you that these are not only guest from our hotel. Sometimes tour busses use this hot spots for drop off and pick up of the tour groups as a gathering place which we have no control of, as that is a public area and not under the hotel's jurisdiction. We can only help to ease the traffic by politely informing at times to the tour guides to assist us in the disperse of large tour groups gathering there, so as not to inconvenience the hotel and its guest alike. Furthermore most of these mainland Chinese tourist are frequent shoppers to the Duty Free Shop that is right across the hotel. Nevertheless we apologies for any inconvenience caused, and hope that the one-off incident observed by you had not marred your impression on the hotel and its personal service standards extended to esteemed guest such as your goodself.

We do not deny that Hong Kong hotels may be perceived by tourist as expensive, but we try to make up for it with the price by offering valued-added benefits for all our Residence Club guests, with exclusive privileges such as a choice of complimentary buffet breakfast at Café East or continental breakfast at Residence Club Living Room, complimentary late checkout until 3 pm (subject to availability), free local calls and faxes, free WiFi, discounts on laundry as well as food and beverages, and more. I trust and hope that through your short experience encountered and staying with us, will not deter your return to our hotel, and it will be a privilege and honor to have you back with us again, so that we could extend to you our modern Oriental hospitality once again which you experience. We have this saying, when you come to us as a Guest, but when you leave us as a Friend. So when you plan for your next trip, please do not hesitate to look us up at our hotel’s website, where you will find one of many of our exciting packages and special offers, and when you find something that can't meet your expectations, please do not hesitate to drop me a line, and it would be our pleasure to take care of your needs and expectations.

We look forward to welcoming you back again with us, and our associates will be more than happy to serve you again.

Thank you and have a nice day.

This is the second time that I stay at this hotel. When I check-in at the reception, they told me that they do not have king bed available today, but they upgrade the room for me to the executive floor(actually it is just a trick, because there is completely no different between executive floor and 8 to 10 floor, only the executive benefit, but they did not give to me). The unfortunate thing is they arranged the room for me just behind the lift, I can clearly feel and heard the vibration from lifts during the whole night. It made me extremely uncomfortable and rotted the whole plan for the second day.

Excellent location, short walk to riverside promenade, restaurants and shopping. Very modern hotel with interesting bathroom amenities. Make sure you are assigned to room
With walk-in shower. The bathrooms without walk-in shower and tub with shower are extremely dangerous and wet all the time. Great breakfast buffet in hotel
