Having stayed often, I find this hotel becomes more enjoyable each visit. The service is unparraleled with the Pierre at the top with its superb views and great food.

A Harbour View room gives free entertainment from the scurrying shipping.

The best hotel in the world.

Room Tip: Harbour view on high floor gives added entertainment from the scurrying shipping

While the outside of this hotel is a bit bland compared to all of the new construction that Hong Kong has witnessed, the interior is truly majestic, and the service is fabulous. We had a suite with a partial water view which was quite nice although the bedroom had no window. The spa is beautiful and we had an incredible massage. Man Wah, on top of the hotel, has been redone, although there are so many good restaurants in Hong Kong now that I would not rush to eat there unless for convenience sake.

Stay here as a businessman, if your corporate budget allows for it.

Stayed here 8 nights on business, lucky enough to have a corporate rate. The flagship property of Mandarin Oriental knows exactly what "exceed your expectation" means, right from check-in to check-out, with no exaggeration:

* airport pick-up from the jet bridge, particularly nice when you have avoided checking in your luggage (and have a big bag to be dragged around)
* unassuming hotel entrance, with personal valet check-in and (too) detailed check-in info
* room space is shockingly well-utilised - check some other travellers' pictures to see how many stuff they manage to hide in the cupboards
* management understood outstanding service does not have to be intrusive. Try the valet box: I stuck my shoes to be polished in at 1.30am in the morning. After pressing the "valet collect" button, the shoes were picked up while I was still typing my mails, and returned in a state - take a look at the picture.
* Concierge: each and every staff live up to the legendary reputation of the hotel. One of the few hotels where I can actually count on the concierge to book business lunch or dinner when busy in meetings.
* Laundry: how many hotels will put in plastic collar bones in your dress shirts after cleaning? I think enough said;
* Mail room and business centre: efficient, reliable service on reasonable (for a MO!) profit margins
* Airport send-off is most useful when you have Dragonair wait-listing your seat - valet stayed with you throughout the wait.

Areas of improvements:
* need more powerful ventilation system for the cigar bar on ground floor - whole lift lobby smells of cigar most of the time!
* at least one restaurant should have longer opening hours, esp. on Friday nights. Had the not so pleasant experience of being asked to pay without asking before midnight at the Cafe Causette.
* Soooo nice to have a nespresso machine in the room! Would be even nicer if there are more capsule colors to choose from! (Don't worry, there's a Nespresso shop at the IFC which is 5 minutes walk away)
* Mandarin language level of many staff not up to par, even though I kind of understood the hotel does not want to woo the nouveaux riches from Mainland China. Kind of ridiculous to speak English to guests having conversation in Mandarin.

Tips:
* for airport send-offs, insist to have your limosine wait for you at the back alley (where they usually stock the trash bins), instead of the front door. That avoids the limo detour back through the Central district, and the 10-25 minute time loss.
* The hotel neighborhood transforms into Philippino concession on Sundays, with militant philippino workers' union singing songs and yelling slogans (with squeaky loudspeakers) right at the doorstep of the hotel. Be warned.

Room Tip: No chance. Hotel so pride and confident that you will be coming back anyway so there is not even a...

I stayed here for a few days for a work trip... Here's why it's so good

The gym is really really well equipped. Take your kit
The pool is small but nice. Take your swims
The room is lovely and the bed is huge. The channels you have access to on the tv aren't great but that was a good thing as it meant I didn't hang around in the room all the time!
The food is a little pricey but very very nice. I ate in the same place for breakfast every day and enjoyed everything I had.
The bar on level 24 has a really nice laid back atmosphere, definitely worth at least a nightcap.
It's very busy but you never wait for anything as the staff ensure everything is efficiently run
The toiletries are amazing!!
Everything is provided, slippers, dressing gowns, nail files, face cloths, loofah, talc, moisturiser, shaving kits, combs, etc

If you're going to hk... This is where you should stay... Worth the price tag

Room Tip: If you have time... Go to the mandarin cake shop and make sure you take your swim kit and gym kit. T...

Another return visit and we cannot fault the service and general thoughtfulness of the staff in this hotel. Immaculate rooms with a great view and our kids all had presents and cute little slippers laid out for them on arrival. Breakfast buffet is very extensive and makes choosing what to have very difficult. Other food in the hotel of a high standard .
Great spa and gym, pool a little unsuitable for younger children. Very helpful concierge.
Expensive, but worth it.

Stayed there for two night at the beginning of April with my colleague. This hotel might be one of the oldest hotels in HK and is very good fashion which I like.Room is very nice and user friendly. The staff is extremely helpful and very attentive. The only down side is that rooms are facing street are not very sound proof. When I checked in on 7th April, I could not fall asleep as there was a street party outside which was quite noisy. Glad the party finished before 6PM.
