Great hotel - rooms are very accurately portrayed as all other guest photos. Compact but not cramped and modern, clean, great showers.
Service from everyone was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Good selection of food at breakfast/ great food at onsite restaurant (not a compromise if you feel like a night closer to your bed after a long day site seeing!)
Price - competitive for Hong Kong Island. Would definitely stay again bit only if price remained a good deal.
So - location. This is the thing I think would make or break for some people. Firstly - HK is easy and cheap to get around by the many taxi's that are simply everywhere. The price of a taxi compared to other world cities is very cheap. So this is always an option whether you are over in Kowloon or on the island.
To get to soho to central - walking is a good half an hour and to get beyond (wan chi / happy valley) you would definitely want transport. There are frequent buses and trams - very easy to understand and hop on. These take about 10 mins to central depending on traffic.
The area itself - you are right over in the western side of Hong Kong Island. The fact that you are away from the main tourist drag makes it more of an experience of a 'real hong kong'. More local shops servicing local needs. So it adds even more context and understanding to a long weekend.
If you are here for a night on a stop-over you might want to consider somewhere more central, just to cut down on a bit of travel time. That said - if the price is right - it really isn't a problem as you can get taxis... Roughly a taxi from airport express/ central to hotel cost about 35-40 HK dollars.
To us - the fact that the hotel was so lovely, our room was so comfortable and had a high finish - our four night stay was made more enjoyable by a location that was 'a bit out of it'. If you like being right in the middle of the main centre of a tourist hub or nervous about depending on taxis and public transport to get around - this is not for you.
