I stayed here for business and had a enjoyable experience. There didn't seem to be a problem with anything and staff always willing to help in particular with Cindy, Jessie, Heidi and Raymond. There was a number of great touches when I arrived. I had a bottle of wine and chocolates plus a personal letter from the GM. While this does happen from my past experience in 5* hotels.
The Breakfast buffet was sensational for $7.50 (Aus) I was here for over a week and the food each morning was fresh, and there was always a couple of different items each day.
Thanks to all the staff, my stay was perfect.

As its Hong Kong, the rooms are small, however the big windows do help.

One tip though, when you need a taxi plan ahead, some days I had to wait between 20-40 mins as there is no taxi rank at the hotel

This is a hotel easy on the budget with very friendly staff and nicely appointed (but small) rooms. Very convenient from the Hong Kong Ferry Pier which also has jetfoil service to some China ports. We had come from Shenzhen. Allow up to 10 minutes for a taxi in the morning and you will be fine. While no upscale restaurants in the area, there are plenty of family style options to choose from. Plenty of options within 10 minutes by taxi. One night I chose the hotel's Malaysian menu which was really good. The gym is is enclosed on the roof (pool is outside and not heated) and had a really good view while using the jogging machines.

Stayed here when I was on a business trip in Hong Kong and really liked the hotel. It's located on a busy street and very close to all the happening places. Rooms size is a bit small but hey it's Hong Kong. Would have no problem staying here again and definitely recommend it to other as well.

I stayed with my 80-year-old mother and they made every accommodation for her to make her stay a comfortable one. We checked in after 11pm, and the service was professional and fast. Unfortunately, the wheelchair accessible room so happened to be on the smoking floor. When I called to ask about a room change, it took no more than two minutes for the manager to come up to our room with a new set of keys and a upgrade to a harbor view room on the executive floor. We had a fruit basket, and the room was right by the lift, which was a plus for us. I would particularly like to thank the manager, but I forgot to write down his name. The room was lovely, and my mom slept really well. Thank you for a great stay!

The hotel is located on a busy street, with a escalator to reception on the first floor. Also at street level, just behind the main entrance, there are three elevators serving the whole building and a parking area for the hotel's (very useful) shuttle bus. Reception staff are very helpful, and check-in was quick and efficient (the hotel minimizes paper usage by using a touchscreen with a stylus for display of customer booking details and customer signatures). There is also a small bar area on the reception level, and two PCs for guest use (printing on paper is charged at 5 HKD per page).

Our non-smoking room on the 12th floor (smoking rooms appear to be concentrated on the lower floors) was mid-sized, clean and with a good WiFi connection (captive portal - after connection to the Traders hotspot, enter the room number and guest name in your web browser to enable access). We managed to connect 3 separate devices to the WiFi hotspot with no problems, but connections can sometimes time out if unused for a hour or two. Our bathroom had a shower and bath, with nice complimentary toiletries (but oddly, no shaving kit).

The hotel has two areas serving food and drink: the SouthEast Asian cuisine restaurant on the second floor (which doubles as the breakfast restaurant) and the Traders Lounge on the 28th floor. Both areas operate from the same menu, which also includes Western food options. Breakfast options are reasonably diverse, with continental breakfast options, hot cooked foods and Chinese breakfast foods. Non-fat milk and decaf coffee are also available. We didn't try the Traders Lounge but it looked like a pleasant area for drinks or snacks.

The swimming pool (outdoors, up some stairs from the 28th floor) was closed when we stayed (we were informed of the closure by a letter left in our room) - this seems to be routine maintenance in the coldest part of the year. The adjacent gym is small, but manages to pack in weight machines, a rowing machine, stationary bike, two treadmills (one with a built-in TV) and sets of dumbells (only up to 10 kg, however). It does, however, have the best panoramic view (across the water to Kowloon etc.) of any room in the hotel - it's probably worth a quick peek even if you don't intend to use the facilities.

Buses run right past the hotel, and the nearest Hong Kong tram ('dingding') stop can be found 2 minutes walk away on a parallel street closer to the bay (you pass a convenient ParkAndShop supermarket on the way). These trams are relatively slow, but stop off at many other places of interest on the north shore of Hong Kong Island. If you want, you can get off at Sheung Wan MTR station at the end of the Central metro line, and continue your journey that way. The trams, like most other forms of public transport in Hong Kong, take Octopus cards as payment.

Rooms are quiet. We did hear some morning construction noise from our room, but it wasn't excessive.
A short steep walk up the adjacent Hill Road will bring you close to Kong Kong University, built on multiple levels on the hillside, where you can also find some museums.

We would certainly stay again. Yes, it currently takes about half an hour to get into the MTR system on foot and by tram, but another commenter has mentioned an upcoming extension of the MTR Central line from Sheung Wan up towards the hotel, which will improve accessibility.

Room Tip: A high numbered floor

My wife and I visited HKG for 3 nights for our anniversary. We booked Traders because of the very reasonable rate and the expected 4* star service. What we received was more like 5* service. Friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable staff (kudos to the supervisor(?) who checked us in), great service in giving us an upgrade with a great view on the 18th floor plus a delicious cake and nice amenities.

The rooms are well equipped, top floors have great views, cleanliness is excellent (thank you housekeeping). The location of the hotel is exactly what we wanted, being the real feel of Hong Kong in a less touristic area. Public Transport to the city is good with bus or tram, as well as to the airport with the A10 Cityflyer. If that's too much hassle for you, Traders offers a good shuttle service.

Breakfast is extensive, both the Asian and the Western cuisine. Well worth the money.

All in all we got great service for a very reasonable price and we had a great stay in HKG

If you have time to spare travelling on a slow tramp then this is lovely place to stay. But if you have only a couple of days and need to rush through all the shopping and sightseeing then better stay in hotels nearer the action!

We spent 5 days in HK and took it slow. Anyway we have visited this city many times so no rushing for sightseeing.

We enjoyed the tramp rides and seeing the local life.
