“The "Return" Test”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

I had eaten in this restaurant some 6 weeks previously on an earlier visit to Hong Kong and wanted to check that it was as good as I had remembered previously. It was every bit as good. Myself and a friend had been at the British Lions and Barbarians Rugby Game at the Hong Kong Stadium and headed down to Causeway Bay MTR looking for something to eat at a few minutes to 10pm. We decided on the Din Tai Fung and this time there were no queues (I noticed that it closed at 10pm!). The lady on the door said we would be welcome as last orders were taken until 10pm (saved!) So let's see how they perform after "closing time" with the late-night arrivals. Our order was taken promptly and the food and drinks came relatively quickly (tea first of course) but without any semblance of rush or pressure to eat up and leave. The food matched my, now rather high, expectations - a good selection of assorted dumplings, excellent chicken soup, fried rice with prawns and some expertly prepared Chinese white cabbage. The staff were wonderfully efficient and attentive as I had remembered previously. Yes it was as good as the first time......I was not dreaming.......this is well-run restaurant with fine food (especially the dumplings!)

“Always a highlight of our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

A trip to a branch of Din Tai Fung is always a highlight of our trip. Having this branch so near to our hotel was a plus. The dimsum is excellent, but try the other dishes too, such as the drinken chicken, the spicy cucumber salad, and more.

“Most amazing dumplings!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We visit Din Tai Fung on a regular basis and love their food. This is a wonderful restaurant to ease into Shanghainese food, as there are many 'western' dumpling options, and they have a great range of vegetable, rice, noodle dishes to suit everyone. We regularly bring visitors to Din Tai Fung and all say that they love the food. This is not a place to go for a romantic date night, the restaurant is a big food hall that can be noisy, but it is uch well priced and amazing food! Definitly worth the visit.

“The Best Restaurant in the World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Literally amazing. Every Xiao Long Bao spontaneously causes me to hear Beethoven's 'Ode To Joy' inside my head.

The dumplings are superb, better than any other Din Tai Fung I have visited in the world. The pastry is micron-thin, and the ingredients are of a very high quality. The dumplings are bursting with juice and the ginger is fresh.

My friends and go go every Friday lunchtime. The restaurant boasts a Michelin Star, yet you can eat very well for just $10-15.

Superb. If you insist on ordering something that is NOT a Xiao Long Bao, make it the garlic spinach, really good.

“Very good but not the best.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Another very good Din Tai Fung restaurant. Very good but not the best I have visited so far. Food? No worries! Excellent! Loved it (again). But....This restaurant is big, too big, too noisy, too crowded (for me). I prefer the slightly smaller Din Tai Fung restaurants.
