This is a brand new hotel that is adjacent to a generally less expensive Holiday Inn Express and both are connected to a shopping mall , MTR station and bus terminal.
I opted to stay there due to the enticing rate that is typical of a new hotel.
I found the location to be very remote for the airport, convention center and much of the tourist areas of Hong Kong.
The MTR station attached is ideal, but the hotel is just remote , no other way to word it.
The hotel signage from the MTR through a mall to the hotel is well marked, but I was so surprised to find the mall doors were very difficult to manage with luggage to get to the hotel. This seems like poor planning as other mall entrances had automatic doors.
Check in was just ok. I was offered "in room check in" , but the time the young lady needed to prepare to take me to my room made the in room check in unimportant to me.
I found all the staff from Elaine and others at reception and the bell staff to be above average and very cooperative. I had some interaction with housekeeping that also impressed me for their attitude.
Hotel elevators were fast, but sometimes a wait to access one. Also one elevator caused me concern as the interior door vibrated and visibly shook as the elevator travel quickly from 41st floor to lobby.
The room was modern and well laid out. Plenty of lighting with exception of the closet alcove which had a light but it was not easy to see the contents of my luggage.
Bed was very comfortable. TV was nice size and had great sound quality. The bath was modern and comfortable with a nice size separate shower that took me a minute to correctly learn how to use the controls.
I did experience hot water in the shower that was not consistent. Sometimes hot, sometimes warm. This is something that I personally have no tolerance for.
The both was spotless with exception of the toilet which was very obvious had not been clean after last guest left.
Air conditioning was just ok. It worked fine, but I found it hard to get the room to stay comfortable without wide fluctuations.
Internet speed was great. They offer both cable and wireless. It was included with my room, but I was told this is not always the case. If this is true, then I would certainly not want to return to a remote hotel that charged for internet too!!
The attached shopping malls are great choice for food. I had planned for grabbing a quick burger from room service, but the almost USD $27 cost was a shock so I went out to get food. The room service menu was small too.
A 7-Eleven is just 4 minute walk located outside the mall for anything you want to grab quickly.
Summary - If the opening room prices were to stay (which is unlikely) and I had no concerns on time to more interesting areas of Hong Kong, I might return.
I am concerned the location is just too remote for business travel such as I do. If I want a quiet relaxing weekened with very nice staff, this is the place to consider.
