“When all you need is a place to sleep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stayed at Innsight for two nights before heading onward in Asia for a wedding. Our thought was just to have a clean place to stay. The online booking process was simple and I appreciate the email from the owner afterwards to confirm our accommodation details. The instructions provided in the online correspondence proved accurate and we easily found the location.

Carmen checked us in and WA very cheerful and helpful. She provided towels for us and gave us information for entering securely after hours.

We booked the twin double which was a number setting to save a bit of money but in retrospect since the rates are so reasonable, for a couple, we souls have splurges on the larger layouts as we did not have much room to navigate around each other. That being said, we found the beds themselves very comfortable and slept well. The other guests were courteous to keep the noise curfew at 11pm as the walls are very thin so we didn't have too many problems. The bathroom compartment might take some getting used to for some as because there is no separate shower stall but fine for us. Pump bottles of bathgel and shampoo provided.

Location-wise, InnSight was great! A fraction of the cost of the nearby big-name hotels. Nearly off of Nathan Road, we were able to walk to the avenue of the stars, to the night markets we were interested in, such as the Jade market and Temple market. We were also able to walk to the Ferry to get to Hong Kong Island.

We were served well staying here and will strongly consider staying here (in a bigger room) if we find ourselves in Hong Kong again!

We were in Hong Kong for the Filmart and this location is very convenient to the exhibition centre as the inn is at Tsim Sha Tsui, about 3 MTR stops from Wan Chai (The MTR stop for the exhibition centre). Shopping Malls and supermarkets surround the location of the inn and the art museum is just a 5 minute walk from the inn if you enjoy art. Bars, pubs and cafes can be found all around the inn, just google for it and you will find a cool spot near the inn (all walking distance).

This place is only for people who will be out most of the time and returning to the inn just to have a restful sleep and a nice shower.

Although the inn is small compared to the average hotel room size in other countries, we are still satisfied that we are able to rest well and feel safe as the inn is well secured (with security cameras) and security cards. We only wish that they have provided more than one set of security card as sometimes our group may split during our outing and cause some inconvenience by being pressured to back on a certain time.

Bring earplugs as sometimes the noise outside can be a little disturbing late at night as the people in Hong Kong tend to work till very very late.

Room Tip: If you want a room with twin beds ask for the Comfort Twin room (two separate single beds) as it is...

Having previously stayed in proper hotels in Hong Kong three times before, we decided to try checking in to an inn this time around and see how the experience would compare with our previous trips. Of course, it would be very unfair to compare Innsight to hotels in the area, but considering its merits as a hostel type of accommodation, I'd say Innsight definitely was quite a pleasant surprise.

All inquiry and booking transactions were done through email and everything went smoothly. Check-in was a breeze as well, and since we were only asked to pay for our first night when we booked the room (we stayed three nights), we settled the remaining balance upon check-in (cash basis only).

The room in itself was very small, and people with larger frames might find it a bit of a challenge to move around; otherwise, the room had all the basics covered, with what little space available utilized to its maximum advantage. Our bed was lodged right between the two walls by the window, with the TV on the wall at the foot of the bed. Aside from the bed and a small side table, there was no other furnishing, so if you're travelling with outfits that need to be hung, all you really have is the hooks at the back of the door. We traveled casual as we always do, so we didn't really mind just having our suitcases double as our wardrobe.

One thing that may be a problem is that the walls within the inn's premises aren't quite sound-proof, so it would be very unlucky for you if the people in the next room are noisy. Lucky for us, we didn't encounter that problem most of the time, although I did hear of such noise once, maybe twice during our entire stay. Also, since our bed was situated right by the window overlooking directly on Lock Street (there was a Marks & Spencer store across and several eateries on our side of the street), there were a couple of times during the night or early morning when delivery trucks were right outside, and delivery guys talking loudly to each other woke me up in the middle of my sleep.

Other than that, I'd say that I had a pleasant stay at Innsight, and I wouldn't mind booking with them the next time I find myself in Hong Kong.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for a total of 6nights over the lunar new year celebrations. We thoroughly enjoyed or stay here.
The rooms are quiet small but for all the time we spent there we didn't mind. Also the location is second to none within 3minutes of MTR station and all the shopping you would want.

We stayed for 4days and 3nights, and if I could summed up our stay, I would say it it was wonderful The place could be categorized as a bed n breakfast or pension like but the place is just right. For people traveling to hk, maybe on a budget, and most of the time would be roaming around and would come only back to the hotel at night, probably late or after dinner, this place is highly recommended. Very clean, new and all the staff very very helpful and courteous. Though, rooms are small by basic hotel standards, still it grows on you. If u want to experience how, maybe, an avarage hk resident lives I strongly suggest u try InnSight. Did I mention it's located right smack in the middle of Look street, near Nathan rd. the center of shopping in HK!!

Room Tip: Just do not expect too much. And If ur not to fuzzy. You will have a great stay

The inn is very small and may not be suitable for those having problem with tight spaces. The lobby itself is a combination of a small kitchen and reception area. But inside and outside the room is very clean and equipped with water dispenser, refrigerator and microwave shared with others within the same floor....and free Wi-Fi too from the comfort of your own room. The security of the building starts from the main entrance of the building (with passwords), to the main door of the rooms (card and psword) and another card to enter your room, not forgetting the CC TV. And if you are hungry, no need to go far. There are local eateries available along the building block.
