“Best value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

100sqm serviced apt for less than HK$ 1k nett. One of the best value in HK island for sure. Free local call fixed line and cellular, broadband wifi and morning only shuttle bus to central and sheung wan, free self service laundry, fitness facilities on 2nd floor and berbecue stove at roof top.
Located just opposite of DR Sun Yat Sen memorial park and sport facilities with in door pools and large park in the sea side. Just use nearby crossing bridge to get there. Sai ying pun area is not so popular for tourist, majority of the shop nearby at the back of the apt are selling dried sea food so be prepare for the smell outside. If using the connaught road from central by car, becarefull after the fly over you must take the left lane to go in to the slow lane and stop near the traffic light because the apt is very near already but the slow lane in front of the apt is one way from the opposite direction so the car need to go round the block to get there. Ding ding tram and bus are plenty, crossing Des voeux road, just ask to stop near eastern road or island pacific hotel, its already very near.
Each floor has only 2 apt (a and b) and has separate elevator for each side. The bed facing the large window with harbour view so ask for higher floor if you do not want your view blocked by the sports building. Instead of a king size bed, there was mattresses all over the base of the window so you can sit or even sleep there as well. The window is double glass, the sound from highway traffic was unheard to me.
The kitchet is fully equipt but there is no dinning table only sofa with coffee table facing a large lcd tv.
The service was efficient, typical of HK.
My apt did not have a bathup, the air purifier worked the next day after being repaired, be carefull to check the exp date of complimentary coffees or teas. But they provide everything we need.

Be awed by the spaciousness and the impractical use of space. In spite of it being a spacious service apartment - with private elevator - it is a nest for two, no more.
No partition, no dining table, just 1 double bed and no door to the bathroom nor for the toilet cubicle.
So rule out if you're booking with casual friends, colleagues or even your own children.. unless the group is used to nudie's camp.
Fairly good quality furnishing and view.
Down side: no signboard at property albeit being a 20-storey
building with street frontage. Reception is a valet parking desk! No F&B, only 1 serving of Nespresso per stay and you need special request for an electric kettle.
Over all, comfy stay in a very very local neighborhood. Comparing Chi 138 to a typical Ascott Residence - there is still a yawning gap for Chi to play catch up.

We were very impressed with the apartment in CHI 138. It is modern, fresh, spacious and the view is fantastic. The tram stops and bus stops are nearby and also it is only 10 mins walk to the nearest train station. There are several local restaurants within 1 to 5 minutes walking distance to have meals from breakfast to dinner. The staff in the laundry room are friendly and helpful. We have requested high floor and we were given the 30th floor.

Will definitely come back to this serviced apartment when I visit Hong Kong again.

After reading all the amazing review I've decided to book the hotel for my bf's birthday. After we've checked in we were pretty excited cuz the room was very big and it has a very nice view. However, our stay turned out to be a nightmare cuz there was a party going on next door and we couldn't fall asleep at all that night. People were screaming and had this incredibly loud music on that jus drove us crazy. We called the security guard at the hotel about 4 times and told him to handle the situation but he didn't get our problem solved. We couldn't fall asleep till 4 in the morning. I seriously didn't expect to have parties going on in such a place like that. very unacceptable and disappointed. If you're looking for a place to stay in the weekend, this hotel might not be a good choice for u. very disappointed.

I stayed at Chi 138 for a month during Apri/May. The apartment is large for HK standards and is well appointed with all the features you need for a comfortable stay. As stated by others this apartment is not in a tourist area and it is great to stay in a 'real' part of the island. I had a few fun times with taxis trying to find the apartment like everyone else. The issue is that Connaught Road West is a freeway and the apartment is on a 1-way inside road. However it all improved after a taxi driver told me to say Eastern Street corner as well as showing the taxi card. All the drivers know Eastern Street. The reception staff are fantastic, very welcoming and helpful and the housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the apartment in very clean condition. I am returning for another 3 weeks in June - here are a few of my hot tips if you choose to stay here:

- MTR is just over a km away. Use the HK trams run down Dos Veux Street if the weather is hot and humid or you have a load to carry.
- Amazing food at the Queen Street Cooked Food Market a few blocks away
- Little fruit shop around the corner is great and fresh
- Hollywood Road is not far away - walk there and check out all the galleries and great cafes
- Shop for supermarket supplies on Queens Road Central/West at The International or Wellcome
- Download the HK Taxi Translator App for your iPhone or Android - fantastic for getting around HK if you dont speak Cantonese
- La Rotisserie - great French roasted chicken shop a block or 2 behind the Sheung Wan MTR (delicious)
- Made in Japan store on Dos Veux Road (just around the corner) for cheap homewares if you need plastic containers or other essential bits while you stay - cheap to

Room Tip: Select a higher floor for the better views

We have enjoyed our 5 nights in Hong Kong's "Chi 138 Residences". The location is slightly out of central Hong Kong but that is part of the charm - you're in a real neighborhood and the local restaurants are cheap and good, and there are food shops and fruit/veg stalls right around the corner. The staff are wonderfully helpful - the apartments are spacious, VERY modern, and spotless. The bed is as comfortable as any I've slept in, and it faces out across the harbor! The rooftop 'refuge' is pure delight - a grill for anyone who wants it, and a view across to Kowloon that is unbelievable. Enjoy this spot - we have!

Room Tip: Upper floors have the better view.

stayed here on the 28th when it was pouring rain for most of the day. most of the reviews on here are extremely accurate. the best thing about this place is the brilliant view from the window- it's probably one of the best in hk- and the fact that the bed is directly facing it- is probably the thing that separates this apartment from the rest. Tremendous relaxation just lying on the bed looking out to that view.

Ok, the windows were pretty dirty, in fact i didn't want to get anywhere near it. that seriously needs to be sorted out. Other than this, the apartment was exceptionally clean. the bed was soooo comfortable we didn't want to leave. the apartment design was really cozy, and made for a soothing relaxing stay and we felt like we were in a home of our own. Bathroom is big but i wouldn't mind a bigger tub :) the apartment is big.

The only negative is the location. It is fairly inconvenient. we walked from central station, which is around 25 minutes? the next day we walked to sheung wan station, that was around 15 mins.
there's nothing much food wise nearby, try to cross over to des voeux road (i think) which is the parallel street, theres a starbucks and a few small local eating places.

I didn't mind the out-of-the-way location as it felt like we weren't in the city and out about somewhere, but definitely a hassle if you prefer convenience.

Price wise, definitely quite expensive so try to get some sort of deal

i totally and highly recommend this place.
