“Delicious Vietnamese in an intimate setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

We had a fantastic meal here. The food reminded us of what we ate in Vietnam, and it was great being able to ask Peter questions and learn about the food as he cooked. We'll be back.

“Teething problems with I visited”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

I visited during the week late last year - and the restaurant was still having some teething problems. The staff seemed unfamiliar with the set up and the owner was breathing down their throats.
The pho was okay, as were the spring rolls, which came way after the pho.
I would go back for another try - perhaps around 2:00pm when things have calmed down a little bit.

“Pho to die for - Coeliacs heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

A great little restaurant tucked away through the doorway of 12 Wellington Street HK island.

Owner and chef Peter Franklin and staff produce magic Vietnamese food. They are fully aware of the needs of coeliacs with very little on the menu that is off limits!

A great discovery.

“Amazing private kitchen in Hong Kong”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

On a recommendation from a local food writer, I contacted ChomChom to inquire about a dinner reservation. Dinner is done private kitchen style only 2 nights each week (as of September 2012). I was delighted to be contacted by the chef/owner and told that he could accomodate my party of two for a Saturday night dinner. This tiny restaurant is gaining a reputation for the best Pho in HK and maintains a limited menu in order to do everything to perfection. The private kitchen dinner consists of a set menu and placing your trust in this Le Cordon Bleu trained chef with Vietnamese roots will be the smartest thing you do on a trip to Hong Kong. The plates were beautifully prepared and presented and the six courses transported diners to a place where flavors were complex and simple, and thoughtfully arranged in a progression that left a smile on the face. The chef is warm and friendly and you feel like you're dining with an old friend who really, really knows how to prepare and present food. Not to be missed. Reservations essential.

“Hideaway Vietnamese with delicious home-made Pho”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

The pho broth was delicious - lots of depth and super tasty. Starter deep fried spring rolls, a wonderful texture of crispy and soft. Peter's small team put their heart and soul into making the best Vietnamese noodles. The food tastes home made, the service is personal. And the little restaurant is right in the heart of Central, Hong Kong...the perfect lunchtime escape from the madding crowd.
