“Not bad.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

It's a decent place with local food but nothing to die for. Very noisy so it is not the place for a relaxing dinner or so!

“Close to MRT for delicious dim sum.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

One Dim Sum is conveniently located to Prince Edward MRT. We had a ten minute wait during which we made selections from the menu. The restaurant is small and large groups would experience longer wait times.

The BBQ pork bun was soft and after a small nibble, oozing tasty sweet BBQ filling.
The waterchestnut cake was delicious jelly containing crunchy chestnut pieces.
The chicken feet was tender and flavorsome.
The steamed mala sponge cake could not compare with Tim Ho Wan's caramel fluffy version.

The taste and value of dim sums in Hong Kong are a holiday highlight.

“My favourite restaurant experience in HK!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

My husband and I stayed two non-consecutive nights in Hong Kong recently, and over that time ate at a number of places, including Lung King Heen whose chef holds three michelin stars. Still, this place was our FAVOURITE of all the places we ate!

It's a tiny little place tucked away in a random little area. The main entrance is not actually on Playing Field Road, but on Tung Choi St (if my memory serves me) - there will be chairs outside and, probably, people sitting on them, waiting to get in! We received a ticket and waited a short while before being seated in the tiny restaurant. After we'd made our selections, the waiter came and reviewed it before submitting the order to the kitchen, and made recommendations - he suggested that we'd over ordered a couple of things, and made sure we knew what we were ordering when we'd picked something a little different. It was great, as he let us know what were the "must haves" and how much we needed of each. He even down-sold us and offered to come back during the meal to see if we wanted to order anything more (and we didn't, he was exactly right).

The best part of it was that the total bill was about £12 for two of us. Ridiculous! We were so full and content after the meal we left with big smiles on our faces.

I would go back here again and again, and will be telling all my friends to do the same! Well worth a special trip!

“In a word? Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013 via mobile

Doors open at 11 and we got there at 1130. Had to queue for about 20mins and eventually shared a table with a couple. Really cramped and noisy but that's not the reason why this place is famous. The Tim Sum is just awesome. Coming from Singapore where you can already find excellent stuff, the food here does not disappoint. Everything tasted fresh and cooked just right. Only area for improvement? The filling of the buns could be greater but the flavor was spot on. Had to eat quick because the table was small and we needed them to remove the empty steam baskets to make space for the incoming food! Some tips for 1st timers : 1. Get a queue number from the host before you join the queue outside. 2. There IS an English menu.. Ask for it :) 3. The shop front is really nondescript so don't be shy to ask the locals when you get to somewhere near. Your phone GPS is unlikely to bring you right into the door. Enjoy!

“Nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Nice and fresh food, not for dates or formal meetings, but for family and friends who like good food and don't mind the noise, overall it's nice food
