“Good location but certainly not value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

Stayed in this serviced apartment for 8 days. It is located at prime location in Hong Kong where MTR station Tin Hau is just 10 mins walk. Rooms are cleaned only once a week and the size of studio apartment is very small. If you go with an expectation of service standards of Hotels/ serviced apartments in India, you will be disappointed. The information about the facilities is not explained to the guests.Communication is the biggest hurdle with the staff. However, the staff is polite and tries to help with broken English. Your request for 2 hours extension of stay gets turned down citing the agreement you have signed with them (your late arrival by few hours does not get compensated by late departure).

However, would recommend this serviced apartment due to its prime location.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms are better and less noisy

Equinox Mercury apartments are a nice place to stay, situated in Tin Hau it is a pleasant walking distance to the main part of Causeway bay and a short stroll through Victoria Park.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, full marks. Payment is required when you arrive so be prepared.
There are 3 apartments per floor and are a delightful modern design, the photos in the promotion show them to be a little larger that they really are. No 4th and 14th floor, Chinese superstitions
they also say they have a roof top garden, sort of, a bench seat and table and a few pebbles, some plants could be an improvement. A magnificent view there. There is a short walk to the rail station and trams and buses. Many different eating places in the adjacent streets provide good food. If you like a dark night you will not get it in Hong Kong, you could read a newspaper outside at midnight as there are so many lights there.
As a serviced apartment you can do your own cooking and some kitchen equipment is supplied. so just walk across the road to the many shops for supplies.
Washing machine and drier is available on the first floor, tokens available at the front desk.
I found the apartment an enjoyable stay and if needed will stay there again. Tip. book ahead

Equinox is a great place. The staff are friendly and the location is very good with bus links / Tin Hau MTR. Been here a month and would stay again quite happily. There is a little supermarket a 2 second walk away and a market where you can get your veg if don't fancy the shop.

This is a really low-price (for HK) hotel that is clean, in a great spot and cool looking -- studio rooms are a little on the utilitarian side, but the high floor ones have good views. Yes, the bed is hard. The walls could use a little paint and the furniture feels a little flimsy. But, for $100 a night, really...can you complain?

Good location, close to Tin Hau MTR and shops.
Clean. Spacious. Well equipped.
Hard bed, but hey this is China .... all Chinese beds are hard.
Staff speak good English and are extremely helpful.
Good restaurants in area. Can recommend Dim Sum Indulgence in Electric Road, just across from traffic lights.
Bakery next door to Indulgence has a great range of pastries and buns, ideal for breakfast and snacks.
Wellcome Store opposite apartments open until 10 pm.
Close to Victoria Park and Taxi ranks.
Great view of area from rooftop and, yes, you can see the harbour and Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter and Harbour Fireworks.
Spent 5 weeks here over Christmas 2013 and New Year 2013, had great time and will return 2014.

Very convenient location close to Tin Hau MTR, also on many bus lines and close to the tram station. Plenty of restaurants nearby, market is literally just across the road.

The apartment is clean and spacious, the staff very helpful. We had a few queries during our stay, but all was sorted out without fuss.

The apartment itself is well equipped, with cutlery and a large fridge. The kitchenette is really for making tea or heating something in the microwave, too small for cooking and not really equipped for that. We didn't cook anything, but did find washing up in cold water (no hot water except in showers) a bit odd.

The lower level apartments could be prone to noise from the street - there is a restaurant right opposite that operates until about midnight, and also the light from the street lamps do get through the gaps in the blinds. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors to escape the street the noise and glare from street lamps.
