Truly enjoyed it with my boyfriend after a busy day in town; intersting people around. Very cosmopolitan and trendy.

“The most amazing meal and fantastic experience”

I came here for an early hen night celebration in a group of 6 and we had the whole room to ourselves. We were escorted through the Chinnery into the Krug Room which has a huge window one side and a huge mirror opposite, so that everyone at the table can see what's happening in the kitchen.

The menu (all 17 courses!) was written on the black wall in chalk, in the style of a crossword puzzle, and as we arrived they uncorked a couple of bottles of Krug and our culinary journey began! Each course was beautifully presented and every dietary whim was catered for - the first 'course' was beef crackers (like Chinese prawn crackers only 12inches long and very thin), dotted with foie gras every inch, and on top of each dot of foie gras was a tiny flower petal or herb leaf. So delicate, and so beautiful (and so delicious!)

The next course was a truffle croque monsieur, only about an inch square so just a mouthful. The mound of truffle shavings was similar in size to the sandwich, but the flavours were not at all overpowering.

As much as I would love to take you through all 17 courses, I will just list some of the highlights and let you find out for yourselves:

Lobster salad inside an edible quail's egg
Beef cornets
Oster & caviar on a bed of frozen rocks with oyster leaf
Sashimi (wonderfully presented in a sardine tin!)
The most amazing beetroot salad with leaves, some real and some made of yoghurt
Tomato sorbet
Peas 5 ways (dried, ice cream, powder, shoots and sauteed)
Turbot with cauliflower puree
Lobster with an edible shell and caviar
Crispy pork belly with truffle
Bread & butter pudding with a surprise
And then the grand finale, made at your table. They change the music, dim the lights and about 4 chefs prepare the dessert - all over the long table. Real magic.

Needless to say, the wine list is extensive and the Krug selection is the largest outside France. This is not a cheap meal, rather it is a while evening of entertainment that will delight anyone who is interested in fine dining with a twist.

I would return in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone for a special occasion. The only thing is, best if you can book as a group otherwise you might be sharing the table with people you don't know. (Not that I'd care to be honest, the experience is so good I'd happily share it with my worst enemy!)
