My partner and I decided to treat ourselves and enjoy some fine dining.
We decided against the tasting menu and enjoyed an a la carte menu of the following:
The signature Iberian pork dish is a must (has a little bit of too much fat than what I would normally eat, however still tasty).
Prawn toast is tasty
Battered brisket wasn't a winner for me or my partner (again a bit too much fat for my palate, especially with the batter, not to mention the addition of the Iberian BBQ pork and prawn toast!)
Pigeon was lovely - you couldn't tell it was pigeon. There was no unusual odour or after taste and let's be honest,if you're game enough to try pigeon (no pun intended) why not try it at a michelin start restaurant!
Scallops and vegetables - only criticism was the scallops were a bit rubbery, however still worth the taste!
Xo sauce wasn't anywhere near as spicy as I'd hoped
Fried rice was good.
We enjoyed the complimentary jelly and cashew biscuit for desert but abstained from ordering our own desert (after our self inflicting food coma)
We were well looked after by our host "Leo". A genuine character and not over the top and "stuffy".
If you have the opportunity to go, I would highly recommend requesting a table by the window.
Air conditioning was quite overwhelming, ladies, suggest taking a jacket/cardigan!
Overall meal came to AUD 300, including a glass of wine, beer, large bottle of sparkling mineral water and two pots of tea.
Would recommend this restaurant, and in all honesty, we could have done without ordering a serve of fried rice (we ordered two servings) the scallops and brisket! Then again, you only live once...
