“Causeway Bay is one of the best shopping areas in HK”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Causeway Bay has the best shopping available in HK. Times Square, Lane Crawford, Hysan Place, Sogo, World Trade Center and street markets are all available in the area. Hui Liu Shan has really good Cantonese desserts and drinks. Bee Cheng Hiang is famous for their beef and pork jerky. Yee Shun Milk Company is known for their milk custard desserts. They are all located within walking distance in Causeway Bay. There are also a LOT of restaurants in Causeway so do not worry, after you're done shopping there are a lot of places to eat.

“Good central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

For the first week I stayed in HK I was in a hostel in Causeway Bay, and even after that, found myself coming back to the area. It is easy to get to many areas from there (once you figure out the streets). There are good places to eat, and lots of people shopping and such. Just a less rushed feeling I suppose. Close to Victoria Park.

“Shopping paradise (mid to high end)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

If you're serious about your shopping the Causeway Bay must be on your list. Lots of mid- to high end shops and shopping centres here (including Japanese department store chain SOGO and Times Square). It recently beat the USA's 5th Avenue as the fanciest shopping district in the world. Lots of boutique shops as well behind and next to SOGO.

Those who want to get a good bargain while shopping will probably prefer Mongkok. But there a few areas for bargaining in Causeway Bay including Jardine's Bazaar - it's not big and shops mostly just sell clothing, not too big on souvenirs.

I wasn't able to visit this but if you want to chill out after a whole day of shopping I've read Hooray Bar on Jaffe Road (in the World Trade Centre building) is worth a visit - great views of the harbour at night while resting your feet from walking while having drinks.

You can also go to Victoria Park (one of HK's largest parks) if you're there in the early morning to catch the senior citizen's doing Tai Chi.

Backpackers won't be disappointed as there are several hostels on Paterson Street to stay in. Yesinn, a new and popular hostel chain is also located in Causeway Bay.

If you're a fan of IKEA (the furniture store), you can take a quick trip there to their branch at the Park Lane Hotel, opposite Windsor House shopping center, just off Paterson Street.

How to get there: Take the MTR to Causeway Bay station. Or for a more scenic ride, take the tram from Central to Causeway Bay - you can get off when you see SOGO on the left side. Or you can take the bus from Central (look for signs that say Shau Kei Wan).

“everything there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

eat, shop, gawk. causeway bay has it all. plus the crowds to prove it. if you are a tourist, its a good spot to see hong kong on the move and some niche alley shopping. don't be afraid to go off the main path a little. that's where off the wall shops are going to be with unusually food, fashion, etc. and its safe.
