“Pragmatic and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Not many cities run trams anymore. The ones they do, its mostly to mantain cultural continuity or as tourist attractions. Not here in HK though. Tramways are a means of everyday transportation and are a corporate enterprise. Cheap by any means and extremely reliable. I try to take the trams whenever feasible. A must if you want to see some HK life.

“Great way to travel like a local”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Used the tram to travel above ground and short distances within HK. It is very inexpensive and easy to use. Be careful during warmer seasons as they do not have air conditioning and can get very overwhelming. Try to avoid rush hour as the tram gets very packed. Definitely recommend if you want to travel like a local.

“A great way to see Hong Kong Central and other Districts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

The "Ding Ding" Tram is the cheapest and the best way to see the coastal strip of Hong Kong Island. For a few pence you can stay on board for the entire trip, or just hop off when you feel like it to explore whatever takes your fancy. We take the Tram every time we go to Hong Kong, it is fun, cheap and gives a great view of the main commercial areas. Try to get one of the older Trams and look at the signs on the walls!

“A must do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

Recently rode the trams for the first time and was able to share this experience with my wife and young family. The children loved it as well. It is a must do. They are small and quaint but by far are the best transport to ride in my view. Sitting up top with the windows open it feels as if they silently stroll through the streets and it gives you time to sit back relax and watch HKK go by.
Cheap easy and definately a must do.

Sit upstars at the front, beware of traffic fumes though. Make sure you pay on exit downstairs by the driver - who speak no english. Avoid rush hour if possible
