“expensive neighborhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

If you like shopping, then this neighborhood will be a heaven for you. From branded stuff like Gucci and LV to H & M. The H & M store was super packed (The store has 3 floors and one basement!). Even if you do not like shopping I think you can enjoy Hong Kong just by wondering around this neighborhood. When I was there, I was lucky that there was a beer festive!! interesting experience and a lot of tasty cold beer. cheers!

“Under construction right now”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Central is a great area for sight seeing (some of the oldest buildings on the island), shopping and eating. Go to the Central Post Office and send a letter or card to yourself; walk the streets for small businesses or shop the more known name brands (there will usually be a line to get in). The Central Ferry terminal has some local shops and good food.

“busy place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

The business district of HK. Loads of people walking on the sidewalk, obviously a busy place. There are lots of shops- from bargain | souvenir shops on their alleys to branded shops on the streets.

We took the train from Tsim Sha Tsui (Red | Tsuen Wan Line), got off at Central Station and started walking around the streets. Its nice-- entertaining to watch people as they hurry down and/or cross the street.

Went to H&M and was completely mesmerized...bought some cute tops. TopShop is just across.

Lots of food places as well.

Visit this place!

“See the IFC Shopping Centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

A visit to central is a must and explore the area including the IFC shopping mall. There are actually two IFC Hong Kong buildings, IFC1 and IFC2, it’s the latter, standing 88 stories tall, that grabs all the headlines and dominates the skyline. Meaning International Finance Centre, the building is set on the shoreline of Hong Kong Island in the Central district and is home to the great and good of Hong Kong’s banking and finance industry, but also to Hong Kong Station and the IFC Mall, which links IFC1 and IFC2 together. On its door step is the legendary Star Ferry, which plies the waters between Central and Hong Kong. IFC2 is currently Hong Kong’s tallest building, until the builders put the finishing touches to International Commerce Centre across the water.
Why Visit IFC Hong Kong: Aside from being a stunning skyscraper in its own right, IFC2 also affords breathtaking views across Hong Kong Harbour and onto the increasingly cluttered skyline of Kowloon. There are some great restaurants, both inside IFC2 and in the adjoining mall that take advantage of the views, while the al fresco, picnic strip on top of IFC Mall is one of Hong Kong’s best kept secrets.
The easiest way to enjoy the view is from the viewing platform on floor 55. You’ll first need to register with security on the ground floor of the building, before taking the lift up to floor 55. The viewing platform seems to be subject to regular closures, so you may want to phone ahead.
You can also take advantage of the restaurants in IFC2 and the IFC Mall. One of the best if Cuisine Cuisine, a cutting edge Cantonese restaurant at the base of IFC 2 with floor to ceiling window views over the harbour and one of the Top Five Restaurants in Hong Kong for Dim Sum. Alternatively, try one of the restaurants in IFC Mall set around its roof garden, such as The Box or Isola. If their prices prove as breathtaking as the views, pick up a meal to go at the City Super in the mall below or grab a sandwich from Pret a Manger and picnic on the roof garden’s benches.

Lots of outlets are at this large area and pretty nice Hollywood road with antique shops and traditional Chinese shops. Everything can be found here!
