“Could do better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Booked this hotel after reading a variety of reviews. Third trip to HK for holiday.
Biggest thing is location.
Whilst there is a new MTR opening closer (next year or two )it is still a hassel to get to Hong Kong Island or even Nathain St. Taxi costs $40 to 50 hk dollars. If the hotel put on another shuttle bus at peak hours it would help.
Rooms very good, service very good, internet $120 per device per 24hrs..very poor!!
Meals OK but could not get Chinese meal, cook gone home. There are a few restaurants around the area but Japanese???
Pool OK but no drink service at pool area had to go to garden bar
Whilst the breakfast buffet was not bad it was not good enough to get us back each morning
as it was not included in the cost of accommodation paying about $150hk was far too much

Personally would not stay there again, just as good value closer to Kowloon or on HK island itself

Room Tip: as with most HK rooms get as high as you can

If you are looking for both comfort and luxury at an inexpensive trip at Hong Kong, perhaps 8 degrees (to quote a cab driver 'too many Harbour Plaza in Hong Kong') is the place to be. Located in Kowloon, the distance of the Hotel from the must-watch places in Hong Kong is not much. The nice spread of continental breakfast along charges one for an energetic day, a must for a tourist.

We stayed this hotel for 3 nights. Hotel room is clean and provide free bottles of Easton's water that we no need to boil the water in very hot weather.

Although, the location is not situated at the main district, there are many transportation to go Mongkok and Tsim Sha Tsui area. A nice experience and lovely staff. There are some of local restaurant nearby which have various of selection.

Overall pleasant and comfortable stay. Hotel price is reasonable and will recommend to other.

Room Tip: Comfortable

Tidy, clean room. Large pool area. About 10-15 walk to main shopping area and markets.
Next time, I will probably try to get a big closer to the action, but good hotel, nice staff.
They have shuttle buses but they were quite busy, so sometimes had to wait for the next bus as it was full. We booked a double/queen bed and it was too single beds pushed together which is fine, but I think they should have put the sheets etc over them both to make it one bed instead of 2. Happy enough for the short stay over, but would consider another place next time.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days in the end of May 2013. When i booked i was told that this is a 4star category hotel but to my surprise it didnt match to a 2star category hotel at chennai. It has 21 floors and we stayed in the a9th floor. Ours was a tripple sharing and we were shocked when we saw the third cot put just near the room entrance without making us able to access the cupboard/closet. We didnt have much space for our luggage nor to walk from one end to other in the room. 80% of the staff doesnt know to smile and some are very rude. They dont give a proper welcome to the guests. I was very annoyed when the three of the staff were having a chat standing right in front of the entrance when we were entering to checking-in without giving us way until we looked stunned at what they were doing.
We were asked to pay 2000HK$ as caution deposit. Morning buffet was gud with different varieties from continental, japanese and Indian. The surrounding had some small restaurants and eatouts and even couple of 7-11 outlets. So we had no worries to eat outside at nights and have a walk.
Wifi at lobby or rooms is chargeable. concierge are helpful.
Can opt the place if you are not too much bothered abt the size of the rooms and the staff service.

We have booked this hotel for 5 Nights (2 rooms), after long flight (14Hrs) it took furhter 45 min to check in, reception staff tried to sell other facilites ie WIFI and breakfast, room was not cleaned had to call House keeping , coffee mug were left unclenaed, upon check out I was asked to surrender plastic door key or pay penalty, if remember correct name Kevin the duty manager was very rude and arogant, I forgot my Nikon camera charger in the bedroom, hotel failed to find it infact after three calls I managed to get through(We clearly remember that we had left battery charger in the socket), very very poor service ,

Room Tip: think twice before you book
