“Nice place to enjoy seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

If you are staying in Hong kong for few days, this is a nice place to go for a day or just an afternoon. This is very near Hong Hong island as it take only between 30 minutes to 1 hour depending if you take the fast or normal ferry ( Central Pier 5 ) .
If you want to avoid the crowd , choose a day during the week, the ferry is also cheaper.
If you like seafood, this is the place to go as this is really cheap compare to Hong Kong island or Lamma island. You have a lot of seafood restaurants just in front of the harbour, which are all at the same range of price and quality.
There is also a nice beach, just 300 meters from the harbour and from there you can walk along the coast. There is no traffic as the cars are forbidden , only bikes....

“Very nice adventure for both locals and travellers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Cheung Chau has been one of the most popular destinations among Hong Kong. I have been this place many times and love it so much. You can find so many interesting shops, good restaurant, street food here. Among all, I like the beach the most! Buy a wine and sit beside the seafront with your friends. Listen to the breeze, enjoy the sunshine is definitely something you couldn't miss in summer.

Staying overnight is also fun!! At night, there are so many stalls selling street food near the pier. Cheap and delicious. If you want to have a crazy night with your friends. Staying in holiday house (渡假屋) is something that you can try. Don't forget to get some beers and snack! or you can enjoy a HK style BBQ nearby! If you want to book a room, I suggest you better do it on weekday as the price is relatively high during the weekend. Try holimood.com, the rooms are good in terms of price and quality.

“Fun island day trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

Fun Trails, decent beaches. Great sea-side restaurants. Questionable looking rentals (not sure that I would actually want to stay here for vacation)

“Don't go on a Sunday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Lovely traffic free island with excellent walks, don't get a bike unless you plan on staying on the flat. Walk across from the harbour to the main beach and then turn right and follow the walk round the headland for quiet and spectacular views. The harbour area gets mobbed at weekends, although people watching is fun and there is a fantastic choice of bars and restaurants. The ferry trips are cheap but can get full at weekends, so make sure you leave in time to get back

“Nice trip from Hong Kong”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

A very good place to escape from the crowded city centre of Hong Kong! Beautiful walks along the coast or through small forests. There are barely any cars on the island, which gives a great atmosphere. Many fishers seem to live there, which makes it worth to try one of the seafood reastaurants. Go by ferry from central in about 60 minutes (about 18HK$) or by fast ferry in about 30 minutes (about 23HK$). Enjoy also the beach, the cave of a famous pirate, some temples and nature!
