Well, it didn't start off too well. We approached the Mariott desk at the airport and verified the reservation. The staff instructed us to wait in a designated area for the shuttle but after 30 minutes of waiting, I re-approached the desk only to find that they had neglected to inform the shuttle driver. Nevertheless, a few minutes later, a very apologetic and courteous gentleman approached us and took us to the hotel.
Following a relatively quick check-in, we went to the room. It was quite spacious and clean. I would expect nothing less from Mariott. The room had a very comfortable bed (in my experience, most beds in Asia are quite hard), LCD tv and free bottled water. The bathroom was very nice and featured 2 shower heads (hand held and one of those "rain-shower" types). The fog free full length mirror was a nice touch too as were the free toiletries.
In an adjacent building (you can walk underground if you are so inclined), was a very nice pool, spa and gym. The latter boasted very modern equipment.
The hotel offers a free shuttle to the airport and if you are touring, a free shuttle to the nearest subway station aka MTR. Keep in mind though that the last return shuttle from the MTR to the hotel is at 10 PM. Taxis are readily available though and cost approx $40 HKD. FYI, MTR to the "city centre" takes about 40 mins. There is a more expensive option that runs from the airport, that only takes about 20 mins.
My only complaint, besides the error at the aiport desk, was that due to the airport's proximity, aircraft noise was quite evident. This was certainly not a big enough issue to prevent me from staying here again.
