“Great Location, but bed is really not comfy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2011

Location: The hotel is just a stone throw away from the exit of Yau Ma Tei MTR exit A2.
Just exit by the side of the hotel and cross a road and there it is.
Also, at the exit of the train station there's 2 7-11 and another hk conveninece's store known as OK, you can also find fast food chain such as KFC and Burger King nearby.

Hotel: We had previously booked a superior twins room but it was not unavailable so we were given a free upgrade to deluxe double, which means its a queen size bed.
I really have to make a negative comment about the bed, a small cough made by friend can cause the bed to vibrate and shake for a moment, and it felt exactly like you are on a small boat on a rocky sea @.@
really terrible so much so that i had to sleep on the floor to feel better -.-

so dont be too happy that you were given a free upgrade.
Another negative point was that you could what was going on on the corridor which means the sound proof factor of the hotel room is really bad 0/10, everytime the door of your neighbour close you could hear it CLEARLY and also, if you were to use the bath room, and probably you are lucky enough to hear whats the next door doing -.-

Furthermore, the hair dryer get too hot for you too hold on to in 5minutes, so i gotta wait for the hair dyer to cool down b4 i could blow dry my hair again -.- so its rather time consuming.

However, i will have to compliment on the staff of this hotel, chinese(mandarin) and english profficient, so its easy to converse with them and housekeeping is done fairly well.

Step out of hotel into a Hong Kong Experience. A $5 USD cab ride from the kowloon airport train station. City trains a half block from hotel. Jump on city train and be at Hong Kong island in 20 min. Mega shopping out your door step. Great western food at hotel restaurant.

We booked a superior room but were upgraded to a deluxe room. The room was quite large by Hong Kong standards but when we looked at a superior room it was a bit small. Our room had a very clean bathroom with good water pressure and all the things like shampoo etc. The room was kept very clean and was comfortable and came with tea/coffee making facilities.

The MTR (subway) is an easy 5 minute walk away and there are plenty of buses nearby as well. This hotel is in a traditional Hong Kong neighborhood with night markets nearby. The more touristy areas are easy to get to using the MTR so all in all this hotel was very convenient.

City View Hotel proudly stands in one of the busiest roads in Hong Kong i.e Water Loo Road, Kowloon District. In just a 2 minute walk you can reach the MTR station . The MTR station itself is amazing and can take you just anywhere in HONG KONG infact it’s fastest mode of transport that is recommended because its so well connected and have stations in almost all districts.
If the weather is perfect you can even take a walk to the Ladies Market and the Temple Market which is just 20-25 minute walk from the HOTEL. Surrounding the Hotel you can find most of the fast food restaurants like the KFC, Mc Donalds and even Pizza Hut along with many other Chinese/Japanese serving joints such as The Spaghetti House.
The Break Fast in the hotel serves both the Continental and the American dishes. For Lunch its mostly Chinese. Chop Stick experts will love this place.
The room spaces are quite adequate and even the bathrooms. If you ever need to have a relaxing massage or any beauty treatments such as slimming, facials , eye brow shaping etc then just opposite the Hotel you have a beauty centre called “The Sun Lady” . This place offers excellent treatments at very reasonable prices and the therapists really can make you relax .
CITY VIEW HOTEL……..next time we are in Hong Kong …. We are definitely going to stay with YOU .

The hotel is very conveniently located for you to get around HK, that’s one of the few advantage of this hotel. It’s the smallest hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’m comparing this hotels with ones in Tokyo. The rooms are clean and but lack space for anyone who’s travelling with 2 suit cases, and it’s a first time been in a hotel where the bathroom only has a shower cubicle and not a bath tub.
Staff a very helpful and courteous and response to any request, on a certain day I required a taxi and the porter ran to the next street to try and find me one. That’s what I call customer service.
Gym is a shared facilities with the YMCA next door which has more than enough equipment required for most work outs.

The main advantage of the hotel is the location, bus, subway, mini bus etc are within 1 min walking distance and Mong Kok shopping streets are 5mins walk away. If your only after a hotel to place your head and not going to spend too much time there then it’s a hotel for you, but if you’re wanting to do some business work in your room then there’s not really much space or comfort for this.

We've been to HK many times and the room in City View was by far the smallest we've ever stayed at. It was just like a box - there was no other word for it. Room itself was very average, with crazy central air conditioning. Bathroom was quite old, and small. However, everything worked and if you only wanted a place to sleep in, then this one is no worse than any other. At least the beds were comfortable, the pillows were reasonably good and the shower, though dated, was ok.

The best thing about this hotel is really its location. Being about 1 minute from the YMT MTR station, you can get almost anywhere very quickly. Around the hotel is also lots of shopping and eateries, and it was just so convenient. Because of that, and because the room itself was not "bad" - we would return. My only recommendation would be to try to book a room that is not the cheapest - if you could get a deluxe rather than a superior, it's likely that it's worth it.

I wanted a resonable priced hotel near to Kowloon and Nathan Road for 3 nights. The City View Hotel was clean, respectable and was just situated off Nathan Road.

The reception staff and all other staff which I came into contact with were helpful, friendly and happy to help.

The room which I stayed in was a standard double room. The room was a little on the small side and the bathroom was a little cramped, but it was perfectly fine for a 3 night stay. The room was clean, well presented and tidy, all of which were the main factors when looking for a hotel. I am also aware that other hotel rooms in Hong Kong are on the small side.

The best thing about the hotel was it's location. It was only a minute walk away from Nathan Road, which was lined with lots and lots of shops, restaurants and fast food outlets.

I found the hotel to be lacking a little in modern facilities with only 2 computers for internet access and no wi-fi.
