“Great value, perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We booked this hotel thanks to the overall reviews we could read here. And I'm not disappointed at all. Location is perfect though it's no Central district, let's say that Kwoloon is the "Chinese" side and "Central" is the "Western" side. Well, that´s what I wanted and what I got, so great!
The premises met the expectations: small room according to the American standards though regular according to the European standards; ok, if you come along with much luggage you can be in trouble: 2 pieces, no more if you want to have room to walk :-). Everything in the room was updated and properly working.
We had breakfast included which is actually a voucher you can redeem on the 3rd floor café. The café is just ok to get something before get out and explore this beautiful city. Don´t expect a continental breakfast or great service though. On weekends it can be crowed from 9am on (Chinese like to have late breakfast).
We spent 3 nights there on Thanksgiving holidays. Our neighbors were quite loud and disrespectful so we complain and we were offered a room change that we didn´t accept because the neighbors were leaving soon. If you awake easily, you may experience some issues as long as the rooms´ doors slams easily and they´re noisy.
The staff was definitely very helpful though not all of them were good English speakers. There is no business center to check in but they let you take their own computer to check in and print your boarding passes. Don´t expect much more.
The location is great, especially if you like walking: everything is walking distance.
I´d recommend this hotel if you want an on-budget place for a few days.

Stayed here back in 1999 and it was a good value hotel then if not a bit tired. Form the pics I see the place is nicely renovated so better than 1999. The main benefit for this hotel was the proximity to Nathan Rd and lots of shopping. While at the hotel i was quite sick and the on staff nurse was very kind in providing anti inflammatory and pain killers. Great service overall.

Fantastic location - a minute to Nathan Road, couple of minutes to the Star Ferry terminal and a couple of doors down from the AWESOMELY DELICIOUS and highly recommended Hing Fat restaurant.

We booked a studio room (on level 9) and it was so spacious! Very clean (including the bathroom) with a full kitchenette. All very modern as well.

Staff aren't super polite but they're okay and get the job done!

There was a fire alarm during our stay and we raced out to the landing wondering what we needed to do. The cleaning staff were there and didnt seem concerned, although they also ignored us and didn't make any attempt to let us know what was happening. In the end, we and another woman decided we'd be better to evacuate and find it was a false alarm than hang around waiting and get stuck on the 9th floor in a fire! We ran down 9 flights of fire stairs and I don't wantto think how many codes they were violating - not the clearest escape as the stairs seemed to be used as a storage area - yikes!

Other than that, I would highly recommend these apartments!

The Citadines Ashley Apartments are located in the prime location of Tsim Sha Tsui District of Kowloon. It is a short 5 minute walk to the nearest MRT Station and the Star Ferry Terminal. There are a myriad of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. The Apartment was very modern, with a good use of space. There was a Double-bed and a Sofa-Bed,ideal for our party of 3.It had a small kitchen area, with microwave, kettle and toaster,a desk with free broadband internet,(you will need to bring your own laptop),plus TV and DVD.We had a room on the 21st floor with Harbour Views, what a bonus !!Breakfast was included, but the Coffee Shop on the 3rd floor could do with an upgrade, albeit the food and coffee was good.Staff were friendly , efficient and helpful. They are currently doing maintenance on the elevators,so only one of the two was operational, some delays were inevitable. All in all, good value, compared to Hotel prices in Hong Kong,I think the Citadines is ideal for the Independent traveller,we would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: The higher floors have partial Harbour Views

Our studio room was tiny, even for HK standards and it was definitely not value for money in terms of what we paid. We have paid the around the same amount to stay on HK island island and had a bigger room and better facilities. The breakfast is so, so with limited choice. Also, during our stay, one of the two lifts was under maintenance and still will be for another 3 weeks! The only redeeming features are that it's in a great location, conveniently near the MTR stations; the wifi is great and it's surrounded by restaurants.

It was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised as I usually stay on HK island instead of Kowloon side of HK. Everyone of the 24 hour receptionist had a joyful, helpful attitude. I was upgraded to a bigger suite that came with sitting room and window view. It was clean and pleasant, smell free thankfully. Despite being in TST surrounded by popular pubs and a Japanese restaurant facing the hotel's entrance, with a nightly queue of diners because of the 50% sushi discount after 8pm, the room was quiet. The breakfast that came with my package was adequate and certainly beats having to squeeze into cubby hole-in-the-wall cafes offering similar fare. Getting to the hotel from the Kowloon airport express station was a breeze as the dropoff point was at Kowloon Hotel and Citadines was just a short street up the next road. No problem lugging my luggage and cabin bags, and Citadines' front entrance was on the ground floor and it has elevators to the rooms. Wifi came free. I could easily hail a taxi which cost less than HK$25 to the Kowloon airport express station and it takes just about 10 minutes if there's no traffic jam. Good value for money for the 3nites I was there as it was off-peak

Room Tip: Ask for room with a non-smoking room with a window

The location of this hotel is great. Very close to TST station and lots of restaurants and shopping close by. Rooms are okay size, I think probably big for HK standards ( we had exec studio). Room cleanliness was okay, but rooms were showing their age a bit.

Breakfast is average at best and our son did not get a ticket as he was not a paid guest I guess so we had to pay for his breakfast every morning as we only had 2 tickets per day. But it was pretty cheap, like $3.50US
