“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2012

Stayed at the the Renaisssance Harbour over New Year for about a week. I have nothing but praise for this hotel and will definitely stay here again. Service was faultless and of a very high standard. Room was good with nice modern design and everything was provided. Wifi quick and had no problems with connection. Pool area very nice for lounging and having a drink. Breakfast was brilliant and one of the best standards I have seen in HK. Overall was a great experience and will be definitely be back to stay here.

We prepaid a harbor view junior suite for 3 days, When we arrive the room smelled terible, we changed rooms to a different floor, They are making renovation on the above floors and the noise was unbearable,
Then we changed again to a different suite no Harbor vie, also smelling bad, but no noise.
For the amount of money we paid and normally the treatment you do receive in Hong Kong it was a total disappointing to stay in these hotel
They should have said that the Hotel is in Renovation .

Room Tip: Low florrs arer quiet

We stayed here 3 yrs ago, longer t han we wanted to, because our tour got suddenly cancelled and I got sick, too. (boo). It's a good location. We stayed on points so we didn't have to pay, which was nice. We had access to the business lounge, allowing us to have breakfast there, snacks, computer/internet usage which helped alot.

This was my 4th trip to HK but the first time at this hotel. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and the brilliant service of Mr Ko and his team.

Stayed in this hotel in Dec. 2011 for four nights using reward points. I had a room on the 34th floor with a view towards IFC, some harbour and hill view. The room was small in size but fine for a short stay. I did not use the hotel spa, gym or restaurants so cannot comment on these. The hotel is covered by the hotel shuttle from the Hong Kong Central Station. One the way back to the airport, I used a cab to the Central station and it was super fast. The hotel is 5 min walk to the metro and across from star ferry. The lobby is very pleasant in the evening with ambient lights that change colors periodically and on some evenings you can also listen to live jazz. I had a cocktail however it was not very tasty. The hotel is very busy so sometimes it may take a bit of time to talk to a concierge. All in all good hotel with a good location.

The hotel is located immediately on the harbour, and offers beautiful views on Tsim Sha Tsui. When I was looking for a hotel in HK firstly I looked for the Tsim Sha Tsui area but, being that I was going to leave on December 30th, most of the hotels on rhe harbour in that area seemed to be already booked or too expensive. Once arrived there, I discovered that the New Remaissance has a very good position because is far from the crowd of Tsim Sha Tsui but very well connected with it through the ferry which is just beside the hotel (it takes 10 minutes to cross the harbour and it is a pleasant way to move); it is also very well connected with the rest of the town because the Wan Chai MTR station (the subway) is just a 5 minutes walking distance. You can choose to use the covered passages which pass over the roads or walk in the area, which is really not as bad as I thought! Everything considered, if you'd like to visit the town it is probably better to stay on this part of the harbour because many attractions are on this side and you can also take a ferry from central (just 2 MTR stops away from Wan chai) to go to Macao or to the other Hong Kong islands.
The rooms of the hotels are very good (do not expect very large rooms because every room in HK is quite small, but that considered at the Renaissace you have quite space). I would recommend to spend a little more and ask for an harbour view room, it's great to see the harbour from the ceiling-to-floor window!
The room style is essential but provides everything you need, and everything is new and clean.
Finally, at the Café renaissance you will enjoy a huge and delicious buffet for breakfast (really huge!).
