“average (expectations were high)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

i enjoyed my dinner at ming court, but (in my terms) does not worth 2 stars. it was average by all means, food was good but not great, service was good but not great. to be honest the wine list was above average. would suggest if you stay in the hotel.

“Distinctly average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

There is nothing wrong with Ming Court, but nothing special either.
Apart from the nice decor we could have been in any upmarket chinese anywhere in the world. There were no special touches, in either food nor in service to rate a Michelin star, certainly not 2.
- The service was slow, we had to ask to order and the wine was not kept topped up.
- No Canapés / amuse-bouches
- "Live lobster" was only available in super sized and tasted old and stingy despite it being "fresh"
- The chicken consume, was ok, but ordinary hardly the claimed signature dish, just typical bouillon
- My award wining chicken with black truffle was tasty enough but, boring after 4 mouthfuls.

If you are in the hotel and can't be bothered going out for dinner or lunch then this place is fine, but don't expect special. Many of the little restaurants around are just as tasty and feel more authentic at a fraction of the price.

“brillant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We went there for a wedding anniversary and was a special event for us. Coming from a country town in Australia we werent used to this level of food but were made to feel very comftable and relaxed. Even our attempt at chopsticks was fun, even though i had to ask what the different coloured chopsticks were for.I tryed food i could never get at home and was not dissapointed and even though my wife chose more safer options the whole arrangment of food was fantastic even if a bit rich for our paletes. the dessert that was arraged for us as a suprise was fantastic, the flavours were so different but so yummy. the service was poilte and friendly(thank you staff)the pricing was good, not what i would have expected for this level of service and food

“Great Tim Sum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

They have limited varities on the Tim Sum menu. However the presentations are good and the ingredients are fresh too. The Shrimp dumpling and the Siew Mai taste great.
