“Best Wanton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

The wantons are really big, juicy and appetising! Though pricing wise it's slightly higher due to its location within the HK Island.

During peak hours, you may be pressurised to finish the food as soon as possible and leave the premise. This is very common in HK.

As the price we were paying for a bowl of Wanton Noodle was considered with a"premium", we did not feel the pressure that much compare to other restaurants/shops.

“Decent wonton noodle in Central”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

Tsim Chai Kee proposes decent wonton noodles of different kinds in Central.
Expect waiting time at peak hours since the shop is very small.
It's not my favourite wonton noodle in Hk, definitely not.
I find the wontons a bit fat and vulgar.
Yet for a quick cheap meal, it is a good deal.

“lost in translation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

much, much, much, much to eat there! Everyone who likes noodles - its a must go to! Only problem for me - i cant use chop sticks - but the friendly personal gave me something a could use :)
also, they are very good in english, something that is not always the case in hong kong. Oh, and also order the mini spring rolls - phantatics with sweat and sour sauce!

“Great food but not great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2012

This place is easy to find if you take the mid level escalators. There wasn't any queue when we went there on a Saturday morning around 11am. We ordered the prawn wanton noodles and sliced beef noodles. Both were really great. But be prepared though, the service isn't great - common in Hong Kong. Oh and they don't seem to serve drinks other than packet drinks so skip that and head back up the escalators to Lan Fong Yuen for their famous milk tea.

“I usually only eat Western food but this noodle experience was unique!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2012

I read in a blog that this place is cheaper and you get a bigger proportion than what you can expect on the other side of the road. So we stood in the queue.

Everything went super quick. You pointed at which soup you wanted with white or yellow noodle. I went with the fish soup base. I enjoyed it mostly with just noodles. Yellow, thinner ones. (We went back twice.)

My husband had his noodles with beef soup. We payed thirty two Hong Kong dollars in the end.

At Tsim Chai Kee expect to share your table with others but I think, that is the charm of it. Plus, in my opinion, you need to be a bit cultural, even if you are a picky vegetarian as I am...
