This was my second stay at the hotel for two nights on business.
The hotel style and decor is impressive as soon as you walk through the door and the check in staff are polite and efficient.
The rooms are of a good size and clean with an excellent bathroom / shower.
The hotel has a number of restaurants inside - a Chinese, a Japanese and an American Steakhouse rooftop restaurant as well as bar snacks available in the ( decent ) bar.
I wondered the Chinese and Japanese restarants and both were empty and also set up for banqueting tables. Not really ideal for the single business traveller.
In search for something to eat I ventured up to the roof top restaurant, which was also empty and the menu prices were outrageous .500 to 1000 Yuan( 50 to 100 GBP ) for their premium selection of steak. I opted to take my chances in the town,
I didn't realise until the morning that the restaurant where breakfast is served also serves dinner.
Outside the hotel, there is plenty too see. Several places to eat / drink and a decent shopping centre.
Chongqing is an impressive city with high rise neon buildings as well as more low key areas.
The atmosphere is plesant as feels very safe.
One word of advise, is to be careful leaving the hotel, as it sits on a bend in the road, and it's not easy to see on coming traffic.
Breakfast in the hotel is very good. A wide selection of western and asian cusine is on offer. The staff are attentive and polite ( almost too attentive ).
Overall a top hotel with good facilities. If I find my self in Chongqing again, I would be happy to stay, only this time I would check out the dinner options in the general dinning room.

Dear Runningman65 from Leicester, UK,

Thank you for preferring JW Marriott Hotel Chongqing and we appreciate that you have taken the time and effort to post your experiences.
I was especially pleased to read that our associates treated you very well.
For the steaks we do indeed charge a premium compared to other restaurants in the city merely because they are imported from Australia and not local. However, we have recently added additional options onto the Manhattan Steakhouse menu priced just under RMB 200 (about US$30), and for our in-house guests we even include a complimentary salad or soup and a glass of imported house wine. The Norwegian salmon is highly recommended!
I am looking forward to welcoming you back and showing you our updated menu.
