Lovely little property, an old traditional courtyard house turned into hotel, with beautiful communal sitting room and restaurant plus roof deck sitting area on top.
The courtyard has some deciduous trees, outdoor seatings with umbrellas surrounding a small pond, while the resident cats linger around.
Rooms are beatifully appointed, good airconditioning, hot water and water pressure.
You will need to ask for kettle as no coffee or tea facilities provided in the smallish room, they'll be happy to provide one, though it seems like they didn't replace cups while leaving the kettle in.
A couple of bottled water provided everyday.
Reception girl has a very good english and happy to give you some guidance to go around, very cheerful helpful and friendly.
Wifi provided, good connection and speed.
Authentic location in one of the preserved hutongs, very narrow alley, west of imperial palace, you get to see the real life of locals, though walking to wangfujing and palace is still quite a distance, good exercise with a good pair of shoes but. Don't be scared to venture around, China is generally very safe, some may try to sell or scam, but nothing life threathening.
We had the hotel to arrange a car to airport early morning, for about 150rmb, fair price compared to taxi which charge around 100rmb, you get to be sure you'll get to airport.
Breakfast are tasty, and cooked as you arrived. The last day we asked for simple breakfast to go to airport, they only gave us a couple of bananas and 4 slices of bread though, not impressed, felt a bit stingy.
Italian cofffee machine available at the restaurant, good decent coffee considering it's hard to get some decent ones in china, they are really tea drinker not coffee.
Tip to get taxi : just jump in, close the door and give driver your address in chinese, it'll make them hard to refuse. Taxi cards available in each room, very handy to use, just show taxi driver they can read the chinese, we can read the english with some pictures.
Don't forget to buy some fresh yoghurt, typical to Beijing, they are everywhere in small ceramic bottle with paper lid, taste much lighter than western version.

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment about your recent stay. We were concerned about your comments and fully investigated your stay. We feel sorry that you were disappointed with your last breakfast provided by us. We misunderstood what you said, and consequently thought you were asking for a more simple and convenient breakfast that can be easily taken away and eaten without being heated. In the future we will provide a mini menu for our guests to tick what they would like, in order to ensure the breakfast quality always meets their expectations.
We were just wondering if you could email us your contact address. We want to post you a small gift and hope this will make you feel better. Glad to know that you enjoyed the rest aspects of our hotel. Thank you once again for staying with us and for sharing your experiences here.
