“Excellent hotel, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

We stayed at the Regent for a week after a tour of the country. It is perfectly located in the downtown area, we walked to the Forbidden City and Ti'anenmen Square, and the shopping streets were handy.

Staff were always helpful, and the dining room had plenty of options at a reasonable price.

The room was modern, immaculately maintained by the room staff, with nice toiletries and heaps of huge towels. A modern, deep bath was welcome at the end of a day of walking. A glass wall meant you could watch the TV while in the bath - a novel experience !

I wild highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone staying in Beijing.

Stayed four nights in September and booked a club suite with airport transfers. On arrival the hotel rep was waiting at the exit but had a long walk to a different level and then into a carpark to eventually find the car and driver. Bejing traffic is as terrible as everyone says and took an age to get to the hotel. On arrival check in was a bit slow but ok, suite on the 6th floor with not much of a view but also ok. The suite was large and spotless, no particular style and lots of dark wood making it all a bit dull really. Very comfortable bed, excellent bathroom and good standard of houskeeping. A few free softdrinks in the fridge and ample bottled water provided. No problem with internet both wireless and lan available.
The club lounge was very nice, great view and the service excellent, small but nice selection of snacks duing cocktail hour and good selection at breakfast including eggs to order, difficult to fault the attentive club staff. Outside of the club lounge the other staff seem remote, maybe the lack of english makes them nervy but not very engaging at all.
A big plus is the location and surrounding area, lots of places to eat from upmarket to basic, close to shopping and some must see sites and also close to underground which is a real bonus given the traffic problems this city has.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was modern, clean, very nice and had all the amenities. We booked a tour of the Great Wall through Grey Line Tours, and that was nicely done. We stayed at the hotel for two nights, have no complaints and many good memories. Happy traveling!

My husband and I stayed at the Regent BJ in late September 2012 for 2 nights on a business / leisure trip.
The location is very convenient being at the Dengshikou subway station and walking distance to Wanfujing shopping area. It was always easy to get a taxi from the Regent, but trying to explain to a taxi driver where the Regent was often presented with difficulty and misunderstanding. Make sure you have the name and address of the hotel written in Chinese for your driver.
The hotel decor is modern and stylish.
The staff were generally friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and our king bed had the most comfortable jumbo size pillows. The toiletaries were Regent brand, unline the Sofitel in Jinan which had l'occitane accessories. The views were very nice from the 19th floor with floor to ceiling glass windows.

Can't imagine a nicer place for the money, and the location is central to Beijing. Wonderful staff, and they arrange their tours through Grey Line, which provides good, knowledgable, and courteous guides. Gym and pool facilities among the best we've ever seen, and we travel a lot. Food is a bit pricey, but that was the only drawback. We'd definitely come here again.

We spent 2 nights in the Regent whilst visiting the Great Wall and some tourist attractions in Beijing.
Hotel was well placed in the city and provided first class accommodation at a reasonable price.
Facilities were excellent as expected and the breakfasts in the ground floor restaurant were brilliant

Regent hotel is wonderful. Right in the heart of downtown Beijing. It's about a three mile walk to the Forbidden City, etc. Great rooms, excellent food and wonderful service. The lobby lounge is amazing with an outdoor terrace for those who like to have their drinks outside. Staff speak English quite well and are eager to please. 5 star for sure. Be sure to check out the "Night Market" about two blocks away.
