We were welcomed on our arrival by Mr John Spooner, the Raffles Ambassador. We find this hotel to be quite exclusive, unlike other hotels with arriving tour group and can be noisy. We stayed at two Raffles business rooms and were happy with everything in the room. The hotel is conveniently located at the start of Wangfujing shopping district and a short walking distance to Tiananmen Square. It is easy to travel around Beijing using the subway, a station is located just a 2-min walk from the hotel. Overall, the staff are nice and accommodating except for one unpleasant afternoon when we were not served at the Writer's Bar and have to walk out. When we questioned the staff, one of the them simply said that they were 'busy'. If you are staying at Raffles and you encounter a problem, look out for John as he will be able to help you out.
