“We's like this to be our home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Upon arriving after our long flight and smooth check in, we were wowed by our suite which overlooked Beijing. There was a much appreciated bottle of champagne with two elegant flutes which made unpacking a treat. The room was well appointed with a dressing area, a large bathroom with slipper tub-not sure if the residents had interest in us with the large windows.
The staff were eager to help with interns from around the world. We enjoyed the crsyanthmum tea in the lobby and Gloria's friendly service. We were there for 4 days and were not eager to leave - this was the best room of our trip.

I stayed at this hotel for four days recently as part of a Viking River Cruises package. Overall, the experience was excellent in almost every respect. First of all, service at the front desk was friendly and helpful. One is always greeted upon returning to the hotel. The lobby/restaurant is light and airy. The breakfast buffet was simply the best that I have ever had -- a wide selection of well-prepared food (except perhaps the waffles). A dinner buffet also exceeded expectations. Rooms were large, with well equipped baths and comfortable beds. The hotel looks out on an attractive park and adjoins an upscale shopping mall that might be of interest to visitors. As for traveling in Beijing, the expectation is that guests normally take cabs as the hotel is a brisk fifteen-minute walk to the nearest subway station. The bell boys, however, provided clear and accurate directions and information regarding its use. While I did not use the swimming pool, another guest was dismayed that the hotel enforced a government rule concerning men wearing bathing caps. Overall, this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

Finally arrived at our oasis after a very long flight from Scotland. A welcoming hotel with every facility. Spacious rooms, beautiful spa and comfortable restaurant with buffet meals served. The location was a bit disappointing as it was a short taxi ride from the city centre and all the restaurants.

I stayed there on a recent Beijing biz trip--first time actually! It's not the flashiest property and it is starting to look a little dated in terms of decor, but it's pure quality top to bottom. Service is never off even a bit. High levels of English from the staff. Spacious room make you feel like home. The F&B is off the hook good. Alberto the Cepe manager is a blast, a real character. Qi is top notch for Chinese food. But the real find was actually the whirlpool room in the men's locker room in the basement. You just have to experience it to know what I am talking about, but basically there's a waterfall involved and these submerged lounges which jet bubbles and a small trickle of cold water to regulate the temperature. Basically I could have stayed in there all day.

The only flaws I noticed: had trouble turning off the overhead reading light in my room. The swimming pool is too small--not appropriate for laps. That's it. Everything else was perfect.

As part of a Viking River Cruise tour, we spent 4 nights here. We got in late at night after a 13-hr flight, and opening the door to the room was heavenly. The decor is sophisticated elegance, with many different textures in a serene palette of colors. The staff is superb, also. They have been very well-trained in hospitality, and the management has obviously stressed anticipating the guest's needsbefore even being asked. The breakfast buffet was excellent and huge, and both Western and Chinese dishes were offered. And then, there's the pool: jet chaises under a movie being projected! Incredible. The whole experience here has set a very high bar.

I kinda of fan of Ritz Carlton and this time it totally exceeds my expectation.

I choose this over Westin/Inter-Con for my btrip despite it's a bit far from office. I was upgraded to Executive floor when I checked in. The room was really spacious, almost felf like a suite. Although view is restricted by some construction nearby, but the room got almost 135degree windown from bedroom to bathroom. It's even better with rare good weather in Beijing.

Facilities are adequate and room is maintained well.

Service is good too. they provide executive lounge including breakfast/lunch/pm tea buffet all free. And you can just enjoy the quite lounge with free flow of drink and fruits for free again. Also they provide car service for guests on executive floor for free ride within financial streets area and they use brand new luxury benz.

I would definitely choose here again next time I had btrip in BJ.

Only con might be it's not that popular compared to peers so you need give details to taxi drivers to find the place though it's just 1min drive from Westin (more well known).

Great hotel all the way around. Nice rooms, great staff, and even free wifi which is unusual at most high end hotels these days. The location isn't that central, although its not bad. We did have a cab driver not know where it was even when we gave him the address, but the hotel does have handy cards with the address, phone number, a map, and the instructions to take you to the hotel.

They will also make you a bag with breakfast or lunch to go which is nice.
