“5 star experience at a 4 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

We started our two week vacation in China at the Park Plaza and it was a great choice. We spent 5 nights here and it was a great jumping off point for exploring Beijing. The hotel is modern and clean located near Wangfujing and the Dengshikou metro station. From here it is an easy metro or reasonable walk to the Forbidden City and easy metro access to sites like the Lama Temple or Nanluoguxiang hutong. They offer an extensive breakfast of both Chinese and Western items in the morning and the staff was helpful with whatever questions we had during our stay. They did try to upsell us to Club level when we checked in, which I didn't love, but they weren't pushy about it. The beds were decently soft by Chinese standards and the room was clean and comfortable. Great choice for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location.

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed the stay. The hotel seemed more like 3*, rooms were clean but outdated. Walking distance to a station nearby but you are more likely to catch a cab to go anywhere. Starbucks nearby and the famous Duck restaurant (upstairs in a mall) walking distance. You would need to catch a can to go to the nearby attractions and to the shopping area (10 mins by cab). Great concierge services.

The location is perfect. Right in downtown Beijing and in a nice quiet corner. I have stayed twice at this hotel and every time had great service. They paid attention to the details, clean room, comfortable bed, universal power sockets, etc.

This was the last hotel of our trip in China.
From the railways station we arrived with the underground just a couple of minutes walking from the hotel.
When we entered they offered us a cup of tea while doing the check in.
We had booked just the room without breakfast and when we arrived the receptionist proposed us an upgrade for 20-25 € each for having the following benefit:
- better room
- breakfast included
- access to the lounge having a couple of PC connected to internet and with the possibility to order drinks, tee, coffee, etc.
- light dinner included
As we were already quite tired after 10 days of visiting and as in Beijing was very cold (it snowed just the day before we arrived) we accepted this proposition.
We were happy with this choice and we were treated very well and all the staff of the hotel was very kind and smiling.
And the breakfast and the light dinner were very good.
Doubtless the best stay we had during our tour in China.

This was the perfect location for visiting the main tourist attractions in Beijing . Also within walking distance of shops and some very good restaurants.
Door staff spoke good English and were very helpful in making sure taxi drivers understood where they were going.
Felt a bit dated but very comfortable and friendly - breakfast was the best out of all six hotels we stayed in during visit to China.

The location is just perfect for all tourists because it is very close to the popular sightseeing spots such as Tian´anmen square, forbidden city or Beihai or just downtown for shopping or food street. The staff speaks good English and they are all very friendly. Starbucks is opposite the Hotel and 2 subway lines are very close (5 or 15 minutes walk). The Thing missing is a nice pool inside or outside.

Check in and check out was fast, what is not always the fact in China. Only point that was a bit annoying: The try to sell an upgrade for a bigger room, happy hour voucher and breakfast included... Fair deal but more expensive than normal breakfast.

We couldn’t have picked a better hotel. Park Plaza’s rates were affordable, the staff spoke decent English, the location was ideal for shopping, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was great (I couldn’t get enough of the nasi goreng). It's a short walk to the Wangfujing shopping district and there's a Starbucks right cross where I bought my daily morning coffee.
