Do not miss this if you are in China. You have to climb it to appreciate it. It is bigger than big and more amazing than you can imagine.

“The Great Wall is breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

Unbelievable site to see! A "must see" if you are in China. I've been 3 times and visited different sites of the wall (tourist area and remote area). You have to see it to believe it!

“It's the Great Wall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

You can't go to China without climbing the Great Wall. What an experience. The steps differ in size and slant. The Chinese soldiers could run them in the dark but the invaders could not see the difference and would make noise warning the Chinese

“Almost deserted”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Incredible experience visiting the wall at this location. During the week, it was almost deserted with just a few Chinese tourists and virtually no westerners. Be prepared to hike and get some exercise, or you might want to find an easier location. If you want some beauty and solitude and don't mind a hike, this place is highly recommended. Some of the local restaurants serve tasty grilled trout from the fisheries in the lake below.

“Become worse”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

A few years ago this was a hidden secret, for 2 Yuan you could climb a ladder to get on the wall, it was deserted, clean. Now there is litter everywhere, stalls and traffic gumming up the road towards it. You might as well go to MuTianYu instead.
