“Great walk around shady campus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

As we stayed at Holiday Inn Haidian, the East gate of Tsinghua Uni is only about 10 mins away. Had my morning walk there during summer and it is a huge place. The paths are shady with lots of trees. I can imagine that it would look very lovely when the leaves of the gingko trees turns yellow in autumn It is fun to see the graduating students taking photos with their families and friends..

“Like a park, with sense of history.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I like Tsinghua University. The campus is like a huge park, with all the old tress and ponds and lakes. Though there are many new buildings, we like the old traditional Chinese buildings, which give a deep sense of history. Of course, one finds monuments of great scholars and historical events. By the way, we like the Ten-Year Cafe very much. It's cozy and quiet, It serves nice juice and sandwiches till midnight. The only fault is that there are too many tourists taking photos everywhere on campus.

“Beautiful Campus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Tsinghua has visible America influence in its architecture. There are 2 sections to Tsinghua: the old section and the new section. Tsinghua has a very illustrious history and this is also evidenced in the buildings around campus. As the campus is very huge, it is advisable to rent a bicycle to ride around.
Also the campus has its fair share of greeneries to provide a cooling walk during the summer.
Tsinghua is near to Peking university too, it is possible to visit 2 of the top Chinese universities in a day.

“Very scenic campus, but can only visit during summer break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

The "Chinese MIT". Construction was actually originally funded by the US Government (a long story). This is much like a western-style university, but with a number of large water features, with paths and gardens. The campus is closed to the public during the school year, but during summer break they open it up to the public, and since it's free, and quite scenic, there tend to be quite a few crowds. Still a very nice campus, and worth visiting if you are in the area at the right time of year.
