“Amazing Sichuanese food, impeccable service and funky environment..at a price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Great spot for spicy food lovers. Overall the experience was impeccable: menu, decor, service, food and drinks. Beijing has many good Sichuanese/Hunanese restaurants but Transit combines great food with a nice&modern environment. Quite pricey but not overpriced.
Definitely a "must-try"!.

“Not your average Sichuan place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Transit brings style and sophistication to Sichuan food- to a level higher than the previous benchmark (South Beauty). The food is artfully presented and very tasty , evoking the essence of Sichuan food but without the heavy oil. The mala chicken as a starter is fantastic , with a nice balance of spice and nuttiness from the sesame . The fried mushrooms come out creatively presented in the shape of French fries but with great flavor. The chicken with basil leaves was excellent and the lamb ribs were fantastic - melt in your mouth tender with a nice kick of spice. The great food is accompanied by an extensive wine list and great cocktails - including a delicious cucumber pisco sour. The only complaint was that the cocktails took a long time to make so you need to be patient on that front. In all a stylish Sichuan option when you are looking for a splurge.

“Stilish chinese restaurant a bit overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

I went to Transit for dinner, in couple. Very good atmosphere, good interior design, very good space among tables. Atmosphere is not chinese, rather international with attention to details.
Table set uo is chienese though, an interesting interior fusion.
Service very good, kind personnel, international standard.
Meal is good, good mix of chienese and international tastes, dishes well presented, although the cousine base is from Sichuan. I'd say, being fusion with an attention to international tastes I'd have expected something more, although good, dishes are not astonishing, some embarassing (cold vermicelli), other very good (roasted duck brest).
Pricing is that of up-market restaurants, even higher, not worth the meal. Overpricing is the drawback here, 25-30% higher than deserved.

“Hidden Gem Turns Hot Table Nominee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

There are places that remind you the fond memories of life, Transit is one of them. Once a hidden gem tucked away in a small alley, where you found all walks of lives sharing stories over exquisite food, it was closed due to the change of the city and re-opened more refined, sophisticated spot after the longest wait. Thoughts must have been put to take this gem to a more glamourous version, yet had not lost touch of the core essence of Sichuan cuisine. One can taste a subtle touch in each dish in which a contemporary sensation sweep through the palate. Just when I thought the food has surpassed my expectation, the cocktails sent me to heaven, literally. But when it comes to it all, what's better than meeting and learning from people while visiting a city? I would go back to this charming joint in a heart beat. Must try: pu 'er pork belly; seabass, spicy chicken; and ANY cocktail on the list.

“Very good contemporary take on Sichuan food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

The restaurant is located on the first floor of a block in the terribly chic Sanlitun shopping area. It is difficult to find, but once we got there we found a very opulent setting - black tables, subtle lighting and beautiful flowers. The food did not disappoint - excellent Sichuan food presented in a modern and imaginative way - we particularly enjoyed the cold pork rolls with garlic and chili.
