I stayed for 3 days on a business trip. What a horror. When I arrived I asked for a non smoking room (also mentioned in my reservation) did not get it.
The first night was a real struggle as the room was very hot 27°C, air conditioning not working and only a very small window that could be opened. It was hell.
Next day I asked them to fix my air conditioning before I left for my meetings. When I returned, nothing had changed, still bloody hot. When I complaint again, somebody finally came.
He pressed some buttons on the control and tells that it is fixed. I told him it was not, I had already pressed these buttons and still no cold air was flowing. Then he decided he does not speak English anymore and just left my room.
I went down to the front desk and asked for a solution. They first called their maintenance guy to check up. She looked at me and said: Sir its fixed the airco is working go away!!!! and she waived me away. I have never been treated so unfriendly as in this hotel.
I stayed for another 2 nights to be completely cooked and then finally left.
The hotel is suppose to be 4*, but it is not. The shower is nice, but the bed is poor, the furniture is poor. The carpet is old and run down, with a couple stains that have already been there for a while. Also the walls had some stains.
The internet is impossibly slow that it becomes unusable at night. So business people forget about this hotel.
Location is also poor. It is far away from anything nice and the neighborhood has nothing to offer. The easiest way to get around is take bus 8 (have 1 yuan ready) and drive towards Chongwenmen station (about 15 minutes). from there you can take the subway anywhere you want. On the way back take bus 8 and get off at Peixin Jie (which is close to where you got on). You can take the bus by walking to the main street, take a right and after 80 meter or so you see the bus stop.
If you walk out of the hotel towards the main street and you take a left you will find a nice and very good restaurant after about 200 meters.
That's if you stay, I would not recommend it, unfriendly staff, bloody hot rooms and no 4* treatment. Go somewhere else and never, never go in the mid of summer as you will be grilled like a Peking Duck.
