“A view from the top”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

Once you've been to a number of parks in Beijing, Jingshan will seem like anyother expect for one important fact: the park features a large hill that was build using the dirt and rock excavated from the moat of the Forbidden City and therefore boasts the best view in Beijing : right over the Forbidden City itself. A great place to take photos on a clear day and to appreciate the massive size of the Emperor's domain.
Something of a climb to the top, but any reasonably fit person will be able to manage.

“Beautiful park with great views!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

Right across the street from the north exit of the Palace Museum. Be sure to check out this beautiful park. The park is basically a hill in the middle, with nice traditional buildings and lookouts. The hill is best enjoyed from East-to-West or vice versa. From East-West nicely places you right next to the entrace to Beihai Park/The Winter Palace.

“We stopped here on a whim and loved it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

We were trying to find something to do late in the afternoon and went here at about 3pm. What a beautiful place, very peaceful and lovely. The Chinese respect their parks.

“Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

After jostling with the crowds at the Forbidden City, this park with its lush greenery and absence of crowds was just great. Everyone walks up the coal hill in order to get a panoramic view of the Forbidden City, which in my opinion was better than actually being in the Forbidden City itself. We were pleasantly surprised when a guard actually went up to one of the locals to get him to stop smoking in the park -a rarity in China.

Excellent way to top off a trip to the Forbidden City.

“nice grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Great grounds, but did not make me feel that I was thousands of miles away from home. Locals were taking pictures of me....felt very awkward.
