“Nice respite from the hustle and bustle.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

This park is full of community activities; you can join in if you wish. There are singing groups, dancing groups (usually women), there are people doing thai chi, some excellent musical performers, kite flying, and a lot of picnics.

The Park, which is used by the Chinese community, has amazing views over The Forbidden City at its highest point.

“Lovely place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We visited on a Sunday and the place was buzzing. Groups of singers competing with each other (mostly badly and loudly) as well as dancers and others doing gym. It is very worthwhile - lovely gardens, people to watch - and the climb to the temple overlooking the Forbidden City is well worth it. The pollution was off putting - the green hills to the west described in my guidebook were a murky haze - but it is worth a visit.

“Best views of forbidden city!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Must-visit if at Forbidden City.

This place offers the best views of forbidden city. Plan to finish your forbidden city tour by evening and reach here before dusk and stay until dark.

Not popular with local tourists so it is possible to get some peace and quite along with spectacular views of not just Forbidden City but of the city of Beijing and the Back Lakes.

In fact if I knew then what I know now I would not have entered Forbidden city at all...just enjoyed it from Jingshan Park.
