“Escape the hustle and bustle of Beijing - visit the park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Enjoyed the peacefulness and surroundings of the park while visiting some of the architecture and people of the city. There were dancers, singers, and entertainers throughout the park - very happy to share their day with you. This was a great walk through the park, around the lake and then onto the next park. Wear good walking shoes, try to visit on a clear day, and enjoy the break from the hustle and bustle of Beijing.

“BeiHai Park & Jing Shan Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

I had read that visiting Jing Shan Park and Beihai Park on a Sunday was a special treat. Well, it was for me. I spent two different Sundays there in April 2013. What I experienced was something I never expected. People gathered in small and large groups along the water edge of Beihai Park and throughout Jing Shan Park to dance, sing, play various musical instruments, play cards and board games and express their cultural roots. People floated from one group to another to participate: dancing with one, then singing with another. People brought microphones and speakers, costumes, and musical instruments of all sorts. It was a festival of its own kind. I had no idea that there was such a cultural diversity in China. Music is a universal language. People were having a grand time. These parks and the people who were there and the Terra Cotta Warriors of Xi'an were the highlights of my 10 day China adventure to Beijing and Xi'an

“my second visit, and i still love it..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

my first visit to this park was in 2010 in January. in 2013, I visited Beihai in March. And I found the weather is better, the trees are more exotic (i love trees:d). It is definitely a good walk. If you have 2hrs or more, then try to explore the area. It's nice:)

“Relax and enjoy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

A full day is needed here. You can take a leisurely stroll, shop and access several other attractions. If you enter from the main gate near Prince Gongs Garden, you have to pay, but entering from near the Bell/Drum towers is free. There is a magnificent lake and beautiful trees. Make sure to see the Bell/Drum towers. An extremely difficult climb, but well worth it. Go for the Drum performance.
