I stayed here with my family. They gave us a room with two twin beds, and nowhere for our daughter to sleep, so we had to upgrade to a bigger, more expensive room. Hotel is noisy and dirty, with lots of cigarette smoke, even on the nonsmoking floors. Could barely see out the windows, they were so dirty, People roam the halls at night shouting. We could hear the people in the next room having sex. Surly staff at front desk, although bellboys and other staff were OK. Mediocre food at breakfast buffet, terrible coffee. I would never stay here again.

Stayed here for a week on a tour of Beijing. Rooms were dated but clean, beds were uncomfortable--very hard--others in our group complained about beds as well. It took two days and multiple requests to get beds changed from twins to king size when it simply required putting beds together with a pad and remaking the bed. Breakfast buffet was above average with Western and Oriental options. Taxis are inexpensive and can take you to many sights but Forbidden City is only about 20-30 minute walk.

We stayed here for three nights beginning 3/1/12. The hotel is a little tired, was quite noisy at night, and there were lots of smokers in the non-smoking rooms around us. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding, with a good variety of east and west food choices. I think I would try a Marriott next time, if rates were comparable

This was the first hotel we visited in China so I had some reservations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The value was well worth the stay. Yes - the bathroom was small and the beds were stiff. However, the hotel overall was elegant, clean, and welcoming with good ammenities, a great breakfast buffet, and good location for sight seeing. The staff was helpful and there were enough that spoke decent english to help us with whatever we needed. There were other foreigners there which made it comforting and made for good conversation. We got the breakfast buffet included and internet usage included. The room did not have wi-fi but had a connection which worked well for skyping our family back home.

Room Tip: Bed sizes in China are narrower, so if you are a couple, select a single - larger bed instead of the...

We stayed here for 3 nights in early September. The rooms are large with high ceilings; the bathroom was clean; beds comfortable, even though the pillows took some getting used to. The breakfast was adequate with many different selections. We found the area around the hotel interesting and it felt safe. For the price I thought it was good.

This hotel claims to be one of the 5 best hotels in Beijing. I find it a slight exaggeration. In general the hotel is fine but only fine. It’s situated 30-minutes walk from the Tiananmen Square; the rooms are clean and comfy but I found them a bit depressing (there’s something sad about the colors); bathroom a bit old-fashioned but clean; breakfast buffet ok. I travelled with a group of friends and some of them had problems with heating. Some rooms were extremely cold and there was no way to heat them up because the windows were leaky. The hotel staff could not fix the problem and only suggested setting the heating at max temperature which did not help at all. One thing I highly recommend is head and shoulders massage that I went to at 1 am and was one of the best massages I ever experienced . Globally I would say the hotel is average.

Room Tip: Choose rooms in the "central section" of the hotel. The rooms situated at the end of the w...
