“Big Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

We were delighted with our 7 night stay at this hotel. From entering the hotel staff were there to give warm welcome and quickly checked in .The rooms are of high standard, with fast internet. The hotel has many facilities of top standard. The restaurants were of reasonable price with a vast amount of choice. We'd stay again.

The Loong Palace Hotel is comfortable and has everything you need. However, it is a fair distance from the city, so if shopping or sightseeing, you will need to find a hotel closer in. The rooms are large, beds enormous and comfy! Some of the people we were travelling with complained of smoke, however, our room was fine, except for the carpets being a little grubby. If you are having breakfast, I suggest you get there early, as it appears that once they run out of something, it takes quite some time to refill, and tables are at a premium. If you decide to have a coffee in the coffee shop, be aware that coffee is made with UHT and you will be paying near on $9 for a cup. Money exchange is easy as machines are available. Be aware, that whilst reception staff may speak/understand English, other hotel staff don't and communication can be difficult.

The Loong Palace Hotel and Spa is a very nice hotel but located a long way from Beijing CBD area. If you are with a tour group this may not be a problem for you as your tour may allow you time to spend in the main shopping area's, if it doesn't, then you will have little chance of getting out to walk around the local sites or go shopping. Beijing roads are choked with cars 24/7 making a taxi trip to the city a non option.
Back to the hotel though, it is a modern hotel worthy of 4 stars. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is of a high standard and plentiful, although if you want eggs - fried is the only option. As many tour groups stay at the hotel you will need to pick your time if you want to avoid the crowd.

Spent 3 nights here as part of a tour of China and apart from the very slow wifi, could not fault it. It truly is a palace. From the moment you enter the amazing foyer with super high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers to you open your door to very spacious, well appointed room there is little to find fault with. The rooms are clean, the airconditioning cold, beds huge and firm and the view over the gardens and fountain is excellent. Yes, it is out of the way with no nearby shops, but when on a tour you don't really have time for local shopping anyway. Breakfast was great with lots of choices.

Room Tip: I think all rooms would be of a similar high standard

the hotel a little far out from the city but it is easy to get to both the city and countryside from here. we stayed here as our first stop on a tour and were pleasantly surprised. the breakfast was varied and enjoyable.

Love this hotel. It is huge and in a good location. Beautiful inside. The beds are hard, but I guess that is normal for China. The morning breakfast buffet was great and the staff were courteous and helpful.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights on the first leg of our Nexus Golden Triangle Tour. Great value hotel but not located in the CBD. My husband and I were on a package tour so collected daily by our tour bus. Getting into and out of the city via other transport was not an issue for us.
The rooms were clean and spacious in Tower A on 14th floor. Our view from the window was of another tower in the complex - not a problem as the area was light industrial and commercial so no great view to be had really.
There was a pool but we did not avail ourselves of it. There is also a 10 pin bowling alley but it is only open Friday and Saturday. Breakfast is to die for - so much food and the choices unbelievable - I am sure it caters for every taste.
There is a small local shopping precinct within walking distance over the bridge.
One small complaint is that the carpets in the hallways/passages were rippled (obviously stretched in the cleaning process).
Two ATMs to choose from and foreign exchange machine available. No FREE WiFi access, but WiFi available at reasonable charge.

Room Tip: Tower/block A seems to have the best rooms (heresay)
