“Faded facade, terrible restaurants, close to town”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Good: Close to Wangfujing, Chaoyang, SOHO, executive floor served excellent coffee on request and good wifi.
Bad: Breakfast was tolerable, but evening tea snacks were terrible, like leftovers from various restaurants put together to deliver a 'mysterious chef's creation'. Shower area invariably got clogged - drains seem to not have been cleaned in years!
Ugly: Sleazy massage cards slipped under the door at night advertising sexy masseuses dressed in pink lingerie...on an executive floor? At least the lady executives could have been spared this?

Room Tip: When in China, always ensure you have a room with a view. Most rooms on the executive floor though h...

“Finally a good place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

We moved here after spending 2 nights in a back packers paradise. Finally a clean washroom and a soft clean, comfortable bed.

The breakfast was WOW!. Never been to a place with soooo.... much variety.... Chinese & western.

The metro station is about 300 mtrs away. There is a big mall right accross the road with a lot of variety for food. There is a shuttle bus for from the hotel to the Airport.

The restaurants inside the hotel are expensive and the food is just ordinary.

Will definetly stay there next time I am in Beijing.

Room Tip: Watch out they will try to give you a crappy room if you booked over the internet and then try to se...

“Great hotel! Good location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

The rooms are very big, but a bit old dated. Breakfast was nice, got a large choice with some Chinese local dishes and dim sum. The mrt station is a bit far, and you will likely need taxi all the time, through its very close to the tiananmen sq. recommended!!

“A good business and tourist option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

I stayed at this hotel as a very short stay business traveler and thus have nothing to say about the hotel's amenities or tourist options in the area. However, the hotel does offer easy access to public transportation and the Beijing Railway station (there are several in the city), and standard access to the airport. On a related note, it is not far from Tiananmen and the Forbidden City. My room was quite nice, though the bathroom could have been smaller while providing a bigger living space. The Sky Cafe, where breakfast and late-night buffet are served, has ample and abundant food options, but these options are a little motley and despite the variety, can be boring after a few days because they are the same options. Service was solid, though not always friendly or quick. If you have an important or pressing important, reserve or arrange a taxi in advance. Taxis seem to be very hard to get at this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Jianguomen。Higher is better.

“Huge, impersonal hotel. Impressive revolving bar.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

This is a very large, 5 star hotel which was undergoing some renovations when we stayed here in August. We stayed here twice during a tour of China, at the start and end of the trip. Our first room was spacious and with everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The second room we stayed in was not up to standard and seemed a little shabby.
There seemed to be far more staff than was needed and any we spoke with were helpful and polite. The top floor has a revolving restaurant and bar, and this is worth visiting for the impressive views.
The breakfast was plentiful and varied, with Western and Asian cuisine. The prices for drinks at the bar were exorbitant and this put us off staying long.
There are shopping centres and restaurants nearby - head though the underpass. Beijing is perfectly safe to walk around at night. The hotel has shops, restaurants and a gym - none of which we made use of.
This hotel was fine for the purpose of our holiday, certainly no real complaints.
