The only reason why I did not give this 5 stars is that we stayed in Peninsula in Shanghai, and it made the Beijing Peninsula look tired. We had a huge suite, overlooking an alley. Not a big thing, the other room they offered us was a two floor suite, which we found a little scary, the stairs looked a little steep. We are not youngsters. We had access to the concierge floor, which was very nice. They had really great snacks and the staff, as everywhere in the hotel, was great. The location is very near a big pedestrian mall, which was helpful. We had wanted to take a look at the Opposite House, which we heard is something special, but ran out of time. This hotel just needs a little perking up.
