We stayed in the Peninsula Hotel Beijing for nearly a week last July after finding out about the hotel on this website and booking it on their webpage!

The minute we walked into the magnific lobby we loved it! The shops! The music! The space!
When were shown up to our rooms, well, we were very impressed ! There was a jacuzzi bath and 2 TVs (one in the bathroom!)!

The pool was so beautiful! We went swimming every morning, we could sit by the pool, drink the water and eat the fresh apples that were served! It was so relaxing - very tranqil!

The restaurants were delicious also! There was 2 restaurants - I loved the Jing restaurant (and when ever I ate in the hotel I ate here or in the lobby!) I LOVED the HUGE buffet brekfast - waffles, a fri, cereal, fruit, fresh juices, warm cakes.... what ever you want! We also ate dinner here - you can eat as much as you want for roughly EUR30 per person and even though it might be slightly expensive - it is absolute quality cusine!!! The staff are unbelievably helpful and nice and the service is fab!

It is situated beautifully within walking distanse of some of the main tourists attracions of Beijing ie. Tianamen Square! Beijings main shopping centre is also right around the coner - where some lovely shops are! If you are planning on going to the Great Wall you can arrange the trip via the hotel! Also the hotel are known for there fantastic concierge service and you can book restaurants and shows (ie. the brilliant acrobatic show!)

There is possibly a million more things I could say about this hotel but the point is it makes for a brilliant holiday, or stay in Beijing and to be honest I really hope I will make it back here for another holiday soon!!!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days.
Firstly found booking using the package which is cheaper than just booking the room often! - met at the airport, very efficient, driven in a very good car directly to the hotel, swiftly booked in, given great advice and reasonably priced tours (chose my own, sort of pick & mix, it included lunch, charges and a guide as well as an excellent driver and car.
Hotel rooms were excellent, best sleep I've ever had!!
Jing for fusion food, try the buffet, it was excellent and a snitch at the price.
Great breakfast in Jing too, better than the one in the Chinese restaurant.
Taken back to the airport in style.
Superb.

Our entire experience surpassed our expectations during our 4 night stay.In my opinion the best location in the city. Can walk or take the subway everywhere esp now that new subway lines are opening up in time for the Olympics.
We booked on their website an Executive suite which included airport transfers and club-lounge access for less than $300 usd a night.
Check-in was quick and easy and we were also upgraded to a Duplex suite!! This would have cost us over $700 a night during peak tourist season. Not sure I would want to be in Beijing during the hot summer months. The pollution, mass group tourism and smog would be too much.
Club lounge had good selection of food for breakfast and during happy hour.Great self-serve selection of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. The staff were very nice and spoke to us about our daily experiences in their city.It seemed sincere every time they asked.
The Forbidden City and T-Square are within walking distance as are the many Hutongs,High-end shopping malls and subway stops.
This is a safe city so you can walk everywhere without worrying about ending up in a bad area and robbed. We also tried a lot of different food including food stalls and not once were we sick.
The two restaurants at the hotels have great food esp the Chinese one on lower floor.
Would stay here again without a doubt. The Regent up the street looked promising as well.
Before of young Chinese trying to speak English with you. Most want something-like taking you to a tea ceremony and stick you with the bill, buy cheap art, lady sex etc.Minor nuisance but if you know ahead of time what to expect then its not a problem.Usually outside the major hotels or tourist sights.
Taxi's are horrible. They dont stop for pedestrians and dont speak English so be prepared and know where you are going.
Overall loved the hotel and loved Beijing.

I chose this hotel from all the great reviews out there plus a lower winter rate. My stay was split into 2 visits, with 1 day in between. The first 2 nights I booked the Executive Suite. The only major complaint I have for this hotel is the size of the room. Otherwise all else was perfect.

The service there was just about the best I've experienced. The meet at the door and in-room check-in was very classy. The staff were very welcoming. In the room I found all the amenities to be above par. The 2 two plasma TV's cleanly mounted to the wall with many english speaking channels, mood lighting in every part of the room including the bathroom, bathroom TV and control panel, master bedside control panel... all GREAT. Again, just on the small side. The other minor complaints I have are the old construction of the hotel which gives it smaller windows (the newer hotels seem to have big floor to ceiling windows) and an interior design that does not blow you away.

On my 2nd stay I was put right into their Beijing Suite. Now this is just about the finest hotel room I have stayed in. There was a nice foyer an office space with luxurious desk, dining table for 4, living room with surround sound system and plasma TV, single bathroom and larger master bathroom and all the same technology. The glass enclosed chinese artifacts are a nice touch. This was one satisfied hotel snob.

Overall, this was a fabulous hotel. I visited on vacation but this hotel would also work well for business travel. I look forward to returning here.
The room was beautiful with contemporary Asian decor and the bathroom was spa-like. The pictures on the Peninsula website are very accurate, up to date depictions of the hotel.
I recommend including the breakfast buffet in your package. It was delicious.
The concierge desk was very helpful and provided excellent recommendations.
