Description: Paddy O'Sheas is Beijings Only Irish Owned, Irish Managed - Irish Sport Bar and we pride ourselves in doing our utmost to maintain the quality that we have built up since opening in 2007. We are very conveniently located in downtown Beijing and for first timers please print off our map first - as the majority of local taxi drivers wont recognize English wording (pretty much the same as most taxi drivers in Ireland!!)

“Excellent and accommodating sports bar in Beijing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

Irish bars around the world (and you know you can nearly always find one) are a good bet if you want to watch sports, mainly football, and in my case rugby. I wanted to watch club rugby so wasn't sure they'd have it, but they did. Arrived a bit early so got talking to the proprietor - he was friendly and helpful and I got to watch the game, even though there was competition from other sports. There are plenty of screens so this was possible. Decent selection of draft beers, a nice space with pleasant outside seating too. The cherry on top was the excellent Ganges Indian restaurant on the premises. The lamb vindaloo was flavorful and superhot - just what I was hoping for.

“Neutralising the culture shock”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

We were invited here by a local we met on our trip to Beijing who had lived in London for a time. Being English and having been disappointed by "Irish" pubs around the world our hopes weren't high. On this occasion we were pleasantly surprised. Paddy's is the most authentic of Irish pub outside of Ireland I've ever been to. Great atmosphere and the food wasn't bad either. There is an Indian restaurant inside the place that served a mean curry, rice and naan. All in all, a great pub that gave a sense of home halfway through a trip to a foreign land.

“Paddy O'Shea's: Good Irish sports bar ...with bonus secret curry!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

We were in the hunt for a spot to watch a couple of Premiership football matches, so an Irish bar seemed a logical choice. Paddy O'Sheas is a pretty good example of the standard type: Irish beers (expensive), local beers (cheaper, watery), a good welcome, expats and out-of-towners.

Feeling peckish, we discovered a curry house - The Ganges (one of a few Beijing branches with the same name, I think) - at the back of the pub. In the mould of a traditional UK Indian restaurant, the place was about to close but they were still happy to sort us out. I was enjoying the food in China, but this still seemed like Nirvana.

What's more, you can order from the restaurant and they'll bring the food out to you in the bar. A beer and a curry in the company of friends and a bit of football - just what wee needed.

“Paddy O'Sheas is a Relatively Expensive Expat Pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

If you want to hang out with expats or you just need to hear some people speak English, this is where to go. An Irish themed pub where you can watch football and grab a pint. Don't expect much in the way of the food though. Their attempts at western cuisine leave a lot to be desired.

Great atmosphere though.

“Paddy O'Sheas is an excellent pub and food venue with strong Irish flavour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

Irish pubs are ten a penny around the world and not all of them bear any resemblance to the real thing. That's fine but if you are a travelling Irishman like myself then it is fantastic when you find a place that is determined to create the right kind of atmosphere for a bit of craic. This is down to the hard work of Karl and his team and I always make a beeline for Paddy O'Sheas when I am in town where I am assured of a friendly welcome, a great choice of Western, Orientaln and Indian cuisines and a nice cold beer.
