Donghuamen was a short walk from our hotel (Peninsula) and well worth the walk. Although there were offerings of starfish, scorpion, silk worms and other delights, there was lots of basic chicken, pork, duck, vegetables and broths. We shared a duck wrap with hoisin and vegetable for 50Y. 30Y for just duck, extra 20Y for the vegetables.
Open from 5pm to about 8 or 9pm it a delight not to be missed.
Crowded yes, but just many are sightseers so just push up to the vendor with money in hand and you are looked after immediately.
We enjoyed it so much, we intend to return in a day or two for more samplings that will make up a full dinner !
Taxis are inexpensive, so check with your hotel for cost to get there. It is worth it.
