Firstly, to reply to one of the reviews on here. The rooms (at least the one I was staying in, and four others which my friends were staying in) have NO MORE CARPETING.
I travelled here for school, and was not able to choose my hotel, as my university preselected the hotel.
The hotel is in a nice quiet area, which is relatively close to a lot of sightseeing. The hotel is also surrounded by great restaurants, that are literally less than a minute walk away from it's main entrance. The hotel's staff are extremely helpful, and the hotel does have a washing machine (extra charge, I believe it was like 2$ CAD per load), which was great since I stayed there for a month.
The rooms are very very small compared to western standards, and there is no storage.
There is absolutely no storage room, and you must take a bus to the closest Beijing metro station. The rooms could've been cleaner.
The bathrooms are completely remodelled.
A weird quirk about some Chinese hotels, the bathrooms have a frosted glass window that faces the bedroom. If this bothers you, do not hesitate to go downstairs and get a curtain which you can hang up.
Please note that the entire hotel is non-smoking, which in China means absolutely nothing, and people will smoke in their rooms, just not in the common areas.
