“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

I am currently staying at the Red Wall Garden hotel and couldn't wait to write a positive review. As soon as my girlfriend and I arrived we were upgraded to a delux room without asking at all. We were given a map by a very curtious receptionist with a list of things that we would definitely want to experience and the best way to get to these activities. Extremely helpful for two 25 year olds who have never been to Beijing. The breakfast buffet was not included in our price for hotel which was a little disheartening because we saw that it was for other people, but the selection and quality of food was great nonetheless. Our air Conditioning was not working after the first night, so we talked to reception and it was fixed by the time we were back after our first day of activities. It is conveniently located close to a metro station and easily accessible to many of the best sites in Beijing.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights and were very pleased with the hotel. It's located in a hutong so you get a bit of a local feel walking down the street but once you get to the Main Street there are high end boutiques and it's close to a metro station too. This is especially handy as Beijing is so big. Our room was big at the top of the building with a nice bathroom and a good shower. Breakfast was both Western and Chinese and quite good. The reception was very helpful in booking massages for us and recommended a great restaurant nearby; Dadong (you must try this if you're in search of roast duck). They also helped book train tickets for us in advance and we were able to have a car take us to the train station for a fee. Only thing that was slightly off was the price of the food which was a bit overpriced dor Beijing standards. All in all, a great hotel with very good service and in a good location

I loved this comfortable hotel, it was charming and comfy and I rcvd a hand written birthday greeting on my door in the morning which I found very sweet. Breakfasts were delicious, quite a variety both western and eastern. Loved the coffee when brewed, we had to ask them to make extra pots since 8 of us Americans were there! Close to shops and eating. No hotel noise it was like a comfortable home in the middle of Beijing . So nice!

Room Tip: Inside looking out over the courtyard, large window double door ed to see out. 2nd floor. Loved that...

My husband and I enjoyed four nights at this lovely and charming hotel. The service is spectacular and we found this to be our favorite hotel of the six we stayed in China. We booked a loft, which provided ample room and a more home-like experience. We primarily ate at the hotel and tasted both Chinese and "western" dishes. It may have been more expensive than local options, but we fully trusted the food quality and sanitation. If I return to Beijing, I will stay here again.

Traveled with friends and everyone was super happy with the RWGH. If you want a boutique experience, instead of a big-box hotel experience, this is a great choice. The staff is what makes the difference here: very sincere in their efforts to make your stay enjoyable. Kind of amazing to be greeted by name! English skills are pretty impressive. This is exactly the kind of place I prefer to stay…makes you feel like you're part of the local landscape instead of a stranger from a strange land. After wandering through the nearby local attractions, you have a retreat to come back to - the tranquil courtyard's a great place for tea or a glass of beer or wine. I will say that it was a little tricky to find for the taxi driver initially because it's so tucked away, but that can be looked at as a positive, too, and you can print directions in Chinese off their website to avoid this problem. Travelers wanting to experience something unique, charming and boutique-classy will be happy here.

Room Tip: The two story room overlooking the courtyard is a great choice considering the size of room you get...

Dear
Thank you for taking the time to post your review on TripAdvisor following your stay with us at the Red Wall Garden Hotel. It was very rewarding to read your comments about our staff, they really do make the difference. Glad that you enjoyed our courtyard. Having a drink there after a busy day is indeed a great way to relax. This is a very helpful advise to print out the directions from our website as some taxi drivers have difficulties in finding our location, although we are located right in the center.
Once again, thank you for posting your kind comments and we look forward to welcoming you again.

My first time visiting Beijing and I chose the Red Wall Garden Hotel after seeing it well reviewed on Tripadvisor. The location was really good, pretty close to Lost City and Food Market and the best in that is a cozy and charming place that you really feel you are in China. Nothing to do with those modern big hotels. Spacious and very comfortable rooms and a friendly staff.
