Our "Peking Duck Dinner Deluxe" was organised by our Travel Agent in Australia prior to our journey. I don't enjoy duck at the best of times but while in Peking do as the Beijing people do. The Duck Soup is definitely to be avoided - I don't know how to describe it but for me it was terrible. Other duck dishes were fine. As we were having the Dinner Deluxe the food just kept coming. The service was good but the acoustics terrible. There was a large party of locals close by and a couple of very loud people within it - to add insult to injury a number of the party smoked during the meal. This is an occupational hazard when travelling in China; people do not think twice about giving you space and smoking is rife.
