“A welcome pizza oasis in old Beijing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2014

Man, it's hard to find, but is it ever worth it! Great pizza with both traditional and inventive Chinese toppings, cold delicious beer, and it's right in the old Hutong neighborhood district where you can walk past a real piece of history along the main park. But it is really hard to find. Make sure your cabbie knows where to go!

“This is a great pizza restaurant in Beijing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

While it is true that you will have eaten better pizzas in your life, this one is pretty darn good ... especially if you are a westerner trying to find somewhere to eat in Beijing. It's not that easy, folks. The Hutong area is very interesting with several bars and restaurants and we found Hutong Pizza with a little effort (we used Google Maps on the iPhone). Relatively speaking - with the international traveller in mind - the venue is very pleasant, though small. The service was really good. The pizza was a 7 out of 10. They serve good salads and other items as well. We have been there twice and will undoubtedly make our way there again. We have 2 young boys and they really enjoyed themselves. This restaurant was on recommendation of a friend who visited here before and are glad we did.

“The whole picture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

The place was really hard to find. I think we walked around for 30 minutes but we were determined to try this pizza that was praised in our guide book.
Based on the way it looks like on the outside we weren't sure we were at the right place. But the red and yellow sign saying "Hutong Pizza" took away our doubts. Inside the place looks fine, nothing fancy but not too shabby either. The pizzas tasted really good, especially for the price you pay . The staff was quick and did their job well.
Maybe it wasn't the best pizza we ever had but the it's the whole picture what makes it a good experience. The adventure to finding the place, the fact that it's not super fancy and that from the outside you can definitely not see that it's a restaurant, the Chinese beers, the good pizzas all makes it a great experience.

“Very average bland pizza”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

We ate here based on reviews from Trip Advisor. The pizza crust was good but the toppings were unbelievably bland. We had great fun finding the place wandering through the Hutongs. The bathroom is very clean and fresh which is why I give the place 3 stars instead of two. Also we didn't get sick from the food! You're better off eating at a local noodle or dumpling place and saving the pizza for Papa Murphy's take and bake!
